MMO Advertisements that turn you AWAY from the game.

I'm sure many of us have seen, heard of, or perhaps even clicked on MMO ads which actually drive us more AWAY from the game (which we are most likely skeptical of anyway after its failed launch or niche gameplay)

I made this thread because I have been thinking of AoC for awhile, to at least try it out. Unfortunately, I heard it isn't very good and its popularity and servers dying really make me apathetic about it, as I know that means it's most likely a crappy failed cookie cutter of the same old crap, poorly designed and developed.

Well, I saw an AoC ad on MMORPG.com just a moment ago...

"The Courage..."

Yea, Conan theme is pretty cool.

"The Carnage..."

Hm, in-game footage? Interesting... This ad seems to be working...

"The Cleavage..."

Whelp, nevermind. Thanks ad, you saved me from wasting my time trying this crappy game out.

 

I mean honestly, when you have to advertise "CLEAVAGE" as one of your features... obviously the game is lacking in every other aspect of the game (plus it most likely WONT have cleavage!)

This is almost as pathetic as "Cum Now My Lord! Play Evony and hot women will have sex in your backyard!!"

 

The moment the game resorts to cheap tricks to pull in barbarians (hahaha, but not the smart kind like Conan...) and impulsive teenagers who just want to grab boobie, it's obviously very poor in quality and low in REAL features. A.k.a. you know it sucks and is bleeding subs.

    I agree that add is really pathetic. How little respect for women does this company have?

    This isn't the first one they did. They also had that equally pathetic add "Death never looked so hot!"

    Real life brings repetition and pointlessness too. The only thing real life offers is Great graphics. Its kinda expensive too and way to dependent on the cash shop. Totally pay to win as well. No thank you. Ill stick to my games.

    AoC is, in fact, a decent, well-made, game.

    Ok. I always get turned off of a game that was developed in one country, in their mother language. Then they paste babblefish translated banner ads of gibberish and nonsense to as many game websites as will host them.

    I am an english speaking person so the ones that I notice are the engrish ones.  I am pretty sure that this happens in other languages as well (I just cant read them).

    If you want to try to market your game to me, in my language, spring for an interpreter it looks more professional.

    Like others have already stated, it was probably a joke more than anything.

    As for the original question, i hate games that advertise BS for example legend of mir saying it has 120mil players i mean accounts or shitty games claiming to be outstanding ala alganon.

    Considering that Funcom thinks that: "Conans world is all about the BOOBS" I dont think its a joke.

    Yes everytime I see Mr T I am reminded why I no longer like Warcraft... They (AB) really ruined a great franchise :(
