If you're one of those people who like me have been waiting for them to turn on the game server so we can all say we were there the second the game became open. Stay off the website!!!!! All that you're doing is slowing down the connection to the website. I cant even get to the website to post this exact same message.It'll probably take longer for them to say its finally live cause there are about 10 thousand people on the website hitting the refresh button every 10 secconds. Im not saying i dont like FOM. heck ive been waiting for it to but im going to b patient.

well then maybe they need to actually put up a webserver and some hardware that can handle their customer base? Hehe, that would be my first thought AS a network engineer.

I hope their game servers are not connected to their website forum. In Wow, any time the servers goes down, the forum log-in goes with it!
The log in shows me that message about having to be closed beta tester till open beta monday, looks like they are not open bets testing at this time. Soon, i feel soon.
It is still monday till...midnight, right? :P
Besides if anyone was in the open beta right now you just KNOW they would have posted something just to brag, I mean to say things are sucky or awesome, heck I would. Actually i am going to try to log in again to see!

The newest message when I try and log in says" Patch server is being worked on , please try again in a while" well something like that anyway!

ok how do u actually make an account? I register thru the OB link and i get an email stating:

Then i go into control panel and it says this at the right side of my name

Open beta starts Monday 31st of January, you will be able to create a free game account then
so do u guys actually have an OB account? If so where do i go to activate mine? Or do i have to wait? I can get to the login screen fine but cant log in as it doesnt recognize my username

You don't use your portal name, the one where you log-in with to do changes to your information, to log-in.
One of the GM on IRC said when the servers are open to everyone, he will release a "account tool", so that you can make your own log-in and password.
I'll give you the heads up about this in the coming hours.

When they finally allow us to make our accounts and characters would some one who can magically conect to the website post it here. Also in case no one realized i bet that withing 30 minutes after we can start playing the servers will crash. This is because there are thousands of us waiting and once they can every one will make a character log in to the servers and you'll have hundreds of people in the begginer areas. If the server doesn't crash ill be amazed and if it doesnt say hello to the world of extreme .......................LAG. So then everyone will come whining back to the FOM website and start throwing a hissy fit that they couldnt play. This wont have anything to do with the computers being used just the extreme amount of players on the servers.
Yes you are right, server stres test starts as soon as we begin to log in by the hundreds!
I hope they got a big fan blowing the heat away from those servers because it will be SMOKIN"~~~

I've been in the BETA since the early days (since BETA 1). I was one of the first 50 people to play it and all I can tell you is it is an awesome game! Well worth the wait, you will all be happy once you get in! Just hope Marko Dieckmann (Duplex CEO/Lead Programmer) can handle all the stress. I saw nights during the closed BETA where he would stay up for 3 days at a time working on bugs! No KIDDING...
Great team of programmers make an excellent game, there couldn't be a better group of guys.
They took their time, instead of releasing this game in early 2004 (first/second quarter) they waited until Q1 005!
Thats good to hear Tzale, I and alot of others are looking forward to it. Since I guess NDA is out of the way now, how does combat work? with ranged weapons is there like a timer on guns determining how long you must wait in between shots, or if you have a skill in aiming it determines how accurate your shots are, etc. I guess what I mean is, is it more of an RPG with FPS elements or an FPS with RPG elements?

Yep, you can now change it in your account settings. Entered the info in and now I'm waiting for it to finish....
