Hmm, you know, I love EQ2. But I've also loved several other games. Just can't see any point in trying to name a "best ever". It's an excellent game ... that's enough

It's a horrible game with flawed design features.

Locked combat. Most people hate it.

Anti soloing. A flawed SOE game philosophy. Most people hate it.

this is just another post trying to bring fanbois in here trying to beat each other over the head with a stick until they all think 1 game is the "best". Its never gonna happen, its like asking a 5 year old if they think LOTR (not saying its the best) is the best movie evere ,they would get bored through a million hour movie and probably wouldnt understand it anyways. They would tell you power rangers is or whatever. My point is that its personal opinion, likes, dislikes, your taste in video game, and your age. Basically im saying is No one game ecer has, is, oir ever will be the"best game ever"

I played Acheron's Call 2 two years ago with MMORPG rating at 7,8. Now AC2 drop to 7,4. Two years later, I play EQ2 with score at 7,4. What will you think about it?

For player's review, I will score EQ2 for not more than 6,5.

The number may not be correct, you have to play the game to know why I score it for 6,5. You will think I am too generous by then.

Its a game.. with a few months of patching of the things they refused to work on before release, and now desperatly try to get in to be able to compete... It can turn out real solid. I think by the first expansion it will be a real nice one.

BUt I mostly came because I foudn it amusing.. You ask that inthe EQ II forum, making sure to get peole who think like you, not to feel left outside...

And not even here do you find a loyal following, but answers from all sides of the spectrum. There is a lesson here. Make up your own mind... Do not ask others if its ok.

im playing and loving eq2, but i wouldnt say its the best game ever......

also, although i think eq2 is the best mmo ive ever played, i actually had more fun when i first started playing ffxi as weird as that sounds. that was my very first MMO and i think most of us can agree the first one is always special.

Far too strong a statement. Even those who love the game will be hesitant to call it the best game ever, especially this early in its life.

Frankly, I don't even think it's the best MMORPG released in 2004, let alone the best ever.

I do give SOE a big thumbs up for providing a free solo content upgrade. That was a huge empty spot in EQII IMO.

I don't think any mmorpg released in 2004 has a claim to even be in the top 3 best mmorpg of all times.

Best commerical and marketed games yes we have loads of winners but best mmorpg nah you got to go back to like 2001 and below to get a true contender.

I'm currently playing EQ2 and think it is a good game. The best game ever?
It gets strong points for user interface. Excellent showing on graphics. The combat engine is exciting. The economy is reasonable.
I left Eve On-line this fall though. Began Eve in July and quit for EQ2.
EQ2 has better graphics and better immersion. Dangit though, I gotta give it to Eve. I'll keep playing EQ2 because my friends are there, but Eve is a better game.
The problem with Eve is immersion. You do not have a 1 to 1 feeling with your character. Mostly you fly around in ships but......
Eve is a better game. Everquest 2 is a good game though, and I am enjoying it. Where is the PvP though?

Maybe you just need to get a second job, Koltrane ... then you could afford a super computer and you'd be able to get the complete experience from EQ2

I think since the solo content updates EQII is much much better than it was. if it was a 5 then, it is a 8.5 now.

those solo patchs were complete crap....only ones who benifited from them were fighters

agreed, and even then I would say there's no way in hell it is the best ever.

Everquest 1 which brought the modern 3d MMO into being or even more so Dark Age of Camelot which is the spawn of EVERY new MMO out there (with the train in skill, use skill in combat even if your a tank system then use another skill, chain skills etc) is the best.
