arena PVP auto level 50, all skill unlocked

PinkerlPinkerl Member Posts: 123

if they make arena PVP auto level 50, all skill unlocked but have limit skill to take to pvp... it would be awesome.

you know like Guild Wars? except not max level just level 50. it would be super nice! and fun! and i would love to pay for this game if it have something like that!

i love pvp and the look of skills in this game but i hate to go through quest based progession. i just want pvp right away. like Guild Wars. also i love how the pvp works.... 5 vs 5 and the team that got to 15 kills first win the match.

what you people think of this idea?

You want to be auto-leveled to "just" level 50? Um, max level (currently) in Champions Online is 40.

And you *can* PvP right away, right out of character creation. You don't have to be max level to participate. But if you're hell bent on having an instant-leveled character, that's what the test server is for.

In guild wars you have to get the skill in pve or buy using points you win pvping. They aren't just unlocked from the start.

Why play if there is no progression? What would you fight for?

i mean yeah we can pvp at low level right away but we want skill varieties which only determine level.

Actually no, it's not. According to Anet GW is a CoRPG, or Co-operative RPG. They have said repeatedly that it is not an MMORPG.

Oh, and no, it doesn't. You only have the elites unlocked if you have capped them in PvE or bought the appropriate PvP skill packs (which weren't added until the third expac, by the way). By default a PvP character will not have any elites and very few regular skills unlocked.

On theory you are right. The problem is that there are tons of games with very similar mechanics that name their self MMO. GW is just the only game that do not recognize itself as a MMO. Most of modern games are just multiplayer leveling games exactly like GW and all they sign theirself MMOs.

I'm not talking theory, I'm reporting what Anet -- the makers of the game -- have said.

That aside, name one game at all like GW that calls itself and MMO, please.

Towns in GW are glorfied 3D chatrooms, all other areas are instanced and limited to the eight people (more in a few, very few, endgame areas, less in leveling areas) in your group -- no shared instances like CO or AoC. You will never run across another player not in your group (or an opposing group if you're PvPing) outside of a town. You also don't have to worry about re-spawns (at least not unless you go out of the instance) because there's no one else the game needs to spawn enemies for.

GW is a fun game, no doubt, I played it for two years myself and through all of the expacs multiple times, but fundamentally it has far more in common with co-operative shooters and RPGs then it does with any modern MMO I can think of.

By the way, "multiplayer leveling" has little or nothing to do with GW. It is trivial to hit max level (20) and get max gear in only a few hours if you're familiar with the game and know where to go.

Uh, Guild Wars isn't an MMORPG. Anet said as much and the only other game of that sort of structure calling/cakked  itself an MMORPG was Hellgate: London, and that was only because the developers wanted to justify charging people a monthly fee for no good reason.
