I have been looking at min. system requirements for Aion and found a few different minimum specs but my question is what is graphics card minimum? like will any card with pixel shader 2.0+ work? like a GeForce FX 5500 with pixel shader 2.0+? Just making sure the exact graphics needs before upgrading.

From there web site:
What will be the system and Internet connection requirements for Aion?
Minimum System Specifications:
Microsoft Windows XP SP2
*2.8GHz CPU or equivalent
1GB RAM
NVIDIA 5900 Ultra with 128MB RAM / ATI x700 with 128MB RAM or higher
**15GB Hard Disk space
DVD-ROM drive
Direct X 9.0c (6/2008 update)
Sound Device
Broadband Internet Connection
Recommended System Specifications:
Microsoft Windows XP SP2 / Vista
*Dual Core CPU 2.0GHz or equivalent
2GB RAM
NVIDIA 6800 with 256MB RAM / ATI x800 with 256MB or higher
**15GB Hard Disk space
DVD-ROM drive
Direct X 9.0c (6/2008 update)
Sound Device
Broadband Internet Connection
*Please be aware that on AMD processors the model number does not represent the actual CPU speed. A good list of AMD processor speeds can be found here. For example the Athlon XP 3200+ runs at 2.2GHz - which is below the minimum requirements.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
I tried playing on a system inbetween the minimum and recommended requirements. You CAN play but DON'T. I recommend 2gb ram at least.
thx for the specs. Now is anyone able to tell me what minimum graphics card specs are needed? pixel shader 2.0? 3.0? 64-bit, 128-bit? or more? etc...Any help would be great ^^
I prefer a graphic card with 512mb ram, 256bit with Pixel Shader 3.0 support.Well a good graphic card cant change everything alone, need a good combination with cpu speed+ram amount. You better to post your computer spec so that will be more clear.
A GTX nvidia 295 , get it and u can run it smoothly
I kill for fun...
im fine with the spec of everthing else . just wanted to know what the minimum spec for a grpahics card would be. can i use a card with no pixel shader? 2.0 pixel shader? 3.0 pixel shader? 64-bit,128-bit, more? 64mb,128mb,256mb, 512mb, 1g?Just looking to see if anyone knows the BARE Min.. you need for the graphics card not like im going to use the minimum but it would be great to know and for reference for others as well.
Sounds like you're looking for a card just to get by. In that case you could go with something like the 9500GT.

If you want an inexpensive good card, I'd recommend the 9800GT.
Playing - FFXIV, ESO
Played - FFXI, WoW, Lineage 2, Guild Wars, Aion, SWToR, LotRO, GW2, TERA, Rift, ArcheAge, TSW
mm is dx10 supported in aion like can we activate the feature
Minimum System Specifications:
NVIDIA 5900 Ultra with 128MB RAM / ATI x700 with 128MB RAM or higher
Will it run, maybe.
Will it be playable, doubtful.
If you can swing it I'd recommend an upgrade to something like:

Edit: I'm guessing based on the card you listed you've got AGP, if you've got PCIe instead you'll have a lot more options.
If you are using " like a GeForce FX 5500" then give this game a miss.
It may play at the very basic resolution's but when it come's to pvp(which it will) you will be looking at a slide show,I suggest you update your PC(I mean the entire thing)there is no point in putting a new video card in your system that will run Aion well for mass pvp as your psu,cpu will either be bottle necked or just wont cope.
There come's a time everyone has to upgrade from scratch and you are there.
If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

Having a single processor I can imput a few things here.
Simply put...if you can run World Of Warcraft you can run Aion.

I am still very surprised that I can play Aion at all. I can keep most of my settings at the 1/2 way bar but of course in larger areas I have to turn it down. I also have to mention here that I have not been on a large team so I do not know how my pc will perform. My guess is better on the lower settings.
I am also surprised that directx put out a recent August update that still supports people with 9.0 c. You may want to look into this if you have older computers. (It has been a long time since I was able to get a new SDK update from directx). I have slight skipping now but then again I was running on an old driver. I just updated over this weekend. (I tested in the closed beta and the upgraded driver slowed down the skipping to almost and even frame rate but I still had some). I am hoping further releases of directx will fix this, but the 9.0 c upgrades are pretty much coming to their end.
You can run the game with a 2.0 shader, thus the ATI x700 or better but I do not recommend it. You will have to keep the shadows all the way down. I have a 3.0 shader and I am at about 1/2 way.
One thing you may notice if you have not already following NCSoft games if that their games rely heavily on RAM. Tabula Rasa maps were so large that their was a memory leak per the RAM associated with page flipping if I remember right.
So if you do not have at least 2 GB RAM you are going to have trouble. Good luck to you.
GlassEye
Aion is definitely playable on most graphics cards. I'd say you need at least 1.5 GB RAM, a Pentium for 2GHZ, and at least a GeForce 6600 of any kind, that means a GeForce 8500GT, or a GeForce 9400GT, or GeForce G150, any of those minimum, if you want more performance I suggest you get a 9800GTX, 9800GX2, or GeForce GTX 285.
For ATI at least a 1600XT.
OP don't listen to this BS. My co-worker and I were able to play Aion on our work stations at work during lunch breaks just fine, it didn't look as good, and it got a little laggy in some places but it ran just fine on older P4, Nvidia FX graphics with Pixel shader 2.0, 1 gig of RAM. When I found out these stations could run the game I about shat myself with Joy.
Question I play wow on the highest settings with a geforce 9400gt card 512 ram. Will it be enough for Aion as well? Wow has no lag or is Aion more demanding?
