This games combat...

When I first played this game in CBT1 the combat was ridiculously slow. The game looks good, but if the combat is going to stay that slow I don' think I'd be able to stand it. Before I download the game for CBT3 I have to ask, did they change the combat?

I was wondering/hoping for the same exact thing.  The game would be amazing, especially for FTP if the combat was fixed.

The attitude on the official forums during CB2 indicates that no, the pace of combat remains mostly the same as before. I only started playing a few days before CB2 ended, and didn't have enough time to leave the tutorial zone so I can't say anything about it from experience.

EDIT: On reflection, that wasn't terribly helpful was it? I don't recall any official word on revamping combat to make it more "fast-paced," but you can always skim the forums yourself in the likely event that I missed something: http://allods-forum.gpotato.com/. However, the game *is* still in closed beta and might be substantially changed between now and open beta, and also between now and launch. If the game looks interesting but you're not certain about how well the combat system will appeal to you, I would definitely suggest that you play CB3 anyway. Perhaps trying one of the pet classes would help ease you into the game? An extra set of hands (or paws, or skeletal claws, or mechanical scorpion pincers) does help speed things up in the beginning zones.

Well, I will most likely still try CBT3. I'm so bored right now that I don't think I would mind the slow combat. XD

Once you get to higher levels the combat becomes faster than at low levels, as more skills become accessible.  But hopefully in CB3 they have reduces energy cost and taken away the energy cost for basic attack, this would make combat a lot quicker.

Played:runescape, WOW, Mu, Hellgate london, Floresia, Runes of magic, DDO, Rose online, Alantica, Flyff, Guild wars, Allods, Forsaken world,

    playing: nothing

    Loved: Guild wars series

    future: GW2

They reduced mob hp between CB1 and 2.  It's not a big difference, though.

    Important facts:
    1. Free to Play games are poorly made.
    2. Casuals are not all idiots, but idiots call themselves casuals.
    3. Great solo and group content are not mutually exclusive, but they suffer when one is shoved into the mold of the other. The same is true of PvP and PvE.
    4. Community is more important than you think.

Well, I dont know if it's just because I'm a paladin or if they fixed the combat, but I am killing things faster. However the leveling is going pretty slow compared to other games. I've played probably 5 hours now and am about to hit level 7.

I am thoroughly impressed with this game. The combat is slower than some games but I actually really enjoy it. Along with slower leveling, its nice to just play the game instead of OMG HURRY HURRY LEVELELVLEL.

I would suggest this game to anyone looking for an enjoyable mmo.

Yeah I heard they reduced mob hp after the first closed beta, but it's hardly noticeable as fights still take forever.  It's definitely a downer to me because I found myself getting bored when I don't usually get bored on small kill quests.  Great game, but hope this changes.

I haven't tried the game yet waiting for open beta but the combat system is like cox? were you don't have auto attack and only attack by using skills?

Yes, there is no auto attack. Every attack is manually activated.

Oh ok nothing out of the ordinary then you can't just be lazy and let your character kill mobs on auto attack.

Now I know why some are making such a fuss on it.

    Lazyness ftw :P

Yes, I love the no Auto Attack feature.

There was a person who literally complained in chat last night that they hate having no auto attack because his fingers were getting tired.................WHAT HAS OUR WORLD COME TO???

I am slowly getting used to the no auto attack. Out of the 30+ mmo's I've played I've never played one with no auto attack so it's much different from my normal kind of gameplay.

So it sounds like pressing the keys on your keyboard and maybe getting a group (hey guys this is a MMOrpg) could be what we 're looking for here.
