    I agree with Koltrane.
There is the possibility that it's me, but I don't have the problem with EQ1, EQ2, Horizons, AC1, AC2, SWG, or the few beta's I've been in, so I'm forced to the conclusion that the problem is elsewhere.
Another thing, if I was the only one complaining about it, maybe it is just me, but besides server downtime, this is the biggest complaint is the community.

Yes, and as I've said before, the reason for that is that people's experience with the community is entirely subjective and people who just flat out need to criticize WoW (despite its massive success, awards and rave reviews) can say "The community is terrible" without fear of rebuttal.

If I could really believe you had a problem with 29 out of every 30 people you met in WoW, then I'd agree there are problems with the community, but such a statement is utterly ridiculous. 29 out of 30 people? Please... You're obviously just over-exaggerating and all it serves to do is make you look like you have an insecure need to appear superior.

However, If you are the kind of gamer that likes soloing and pvp you would have a complete blast in WoW. I prefer grouping xping and questing with a bit of pvp (pvp isnt a must) so as you would imagine getting most of my invites rejected in this game just destroyed most of the fun for me. If you didnt like the game during beta you would be better off looking else where. The only difference i see between the open beta and the retail is that the sever in the retail versions is unstable and tends to lag a lot even though im running a system with an amd 64 3200+ 1gig of ram and a 6600gt (it might be driver conflicts but i dont like this game enough to spend hours troubleshootingimage).

I have to disagree with you. Community on Magtheridon rox! Ive encountered only 2 or 3 jerks that I really didnt like how they behaved. Other then that, Magtheridon has mature audience.

I have been playing since mid beta and I will say while this is the best MMO out right now, but I would have to recommend you stay away from it currently.... Why you ask? Well its simple Blizzards servers are horrible right now when it comes to lag... It has been this way back since Open Beta first started and strangly it just seems to get worse...Cant tell you how many times my team members or me have gotten booted right in the middle of some instance or hard quest... Cant tell you how many times you will see "LAG!!!!" and "Yeah, it sucks" posted on the general chat...PVP can be awesome untill a bunch of others join in(which will happen) then it becomes a lag fest that not only lags out the players around that area but seems to effect tons of people playing server wide...When ever I start lagging somewhere I can almost assure you that there is a huge battle going on somewhere (most likely TM)

I love this game cause its truely amazing but the lag is just getting very old.. Its been going on for 3 months (OB included) and it seems Blizzard has no answer for it.... Maybe this fix that there doing today to the rest of the servers will work... Only time will tell, but I doubt it...

Great game, but it can be lag hell

I play on Magtheridon and it has no problems. It hasnt been down often (once in 2-3 weeks me thinks). Although I dont play WoW all the time, im a casual player. Oh and i think all servers have scheduled 1hour downtime each day.
Also in huge battles I dont lag. I used to but i dled new vid card drivers and tweaked some settings. I currently have geforce FX 5200, not a kickass vid but not sucky one either.

    My World of Warcraft experience(s)

Community: People do not understand why /ignore was implemented. My list is full. I have begun to replace some of the "older" ignore with new ones. People are always complaining about the "jerks", "noobs", and what have you, but they never mention the people the appreciate. You will party with warriors that roll on cloth and people that will ask the party if anyone needs the drop. It's a toss up; all in all, leave general chat (/leave 1) and the community won't bother you.

Customer Service: In-game tickets do take a while to be looked at. When they are answered, a GM will send you a tell asking if you're busy at the moment where they will return. There are times when you get aggrevated and contemplate why you're playing the game, but it goes away. Honestly, I have not really been in a situation that needed immediate assistance.

In-game Issues: At first it was REAL rocky. Crashing servers, lag spikes, and the like were immense. But, at this point, I don't have any major issues. People fill the forums with bad remarks and wonder why there's a wait for logging in when the made a character on a high population server. See, at release there were only a few servers to choose from. About a week later the number of servers grew immensely. Most people did not want to ditch their characters and continued to play on the original servers. I rerolled on a different server and I absolutely love it. You play on a high pop server, you're going yo have problems.

Gameplay: Leveling is easy; no matter what way you look at it. It's all how you choose to play. You can reach level cap (60) real quick but have no professions. I chose leatherworking and skinning. I love it. I make a LOT of money and make my own gear. I can farm for two days and make rediculous amounts of money off the leather armor I make. You get new/improved skills every 2 levels and a new talent point every level. Talents are the way classes seperate themselves from the rest. You also have a choice to relearn talents but it gets increasingly expensive. I have redone mine 5 times. The first four builds I got off forums from people that suggested them. The latest one I use I came up with and I wish I did it in the first place. All in all, go by your instincts; not someone else's.

Content: As stated above, leveling can be easy. Blizzard is in progress of implementing Battlegrounds which allows players to take over towers and forts against their enemies. This is going to be incredible for the PvP community. I can't wait for it. As of now, PvP rewards nothing but the satisfaction of killing your opponent(s). In all honesty, I gank people all the time. I am a level 47 rogue and attack every Horde ( I am a gnome ) I see; from level 16 to 60. But, there are raids which seem sorta pointless due to killing one NPC guard usually ends up with two more replacing him in an endless spiral until you either die or run away. PvE is great too. If you're like me and roll on a low pop server, you're PvE experience will be far better (my opinion) than on a high pop. I can easily find a spot to gather leather and skins to level my professions and have little or no contact with others for the time I am there. Instances are fun but need a group if you want to do them unless you're high enough level to solo as the itmes you find will either be way too low for you to use or will sell for a low amount of money to your level. I just the like soloing instances to find green, blue, purple =D, items and know I do not have to roll for them. I have found a freezing band and two staff of jordans while soloing and it felt so good knowing that they were all mine (gave my staff to a guild though). In the end, there's lots to do to keep you busy and you'll be anxiuos to come from work/school/college and wanting to get on.

This is MY review of the game of World of Warcraft. I understand that this is a lot of reading and probably no one will read it. But, thanks for giving the oppurtunity to kill 1/2 an hour between classes. I hope this helps to give a better insight on the game World of Warcraft. Thanks for reading.

If you like soloing you would love WoW, if you prefer grouping or hate soloing (like me) you would be fustrated to no end in this game. Solo players can afford to add half the sever to their ignore list but as a group player the more people around my lv i add to my ignore list the less of a chance i have to group in a game that has extremely scarce grouping. Makes me wonder why blizzard even bothered to add a grouping option to world of solocraft. I had a thousands times more fun playing Anarchy online than i have playing solocraft.

Well, I'm not sure that reflects my experiences in WoW. I found groups in WoW for those areas that needed groups (elite quests, some of the harder caves and boats, instances) without all that much time or difficulty. The main difference I have seen is that the groups often tend to be goal-focused (that is, for this instance, this quest, this cave, etc.) and then they disband and people go off on their own again. I was in a few groups that lasted for multiple quests and that was fun, but it didn't happen often. I grouped with guildmates a lot, and those groups tended to last longer and be more fulfilling than pick-up groups.

Quest that requirer groups are usually few and far inbetween. Most of the time you are left soloing quest/xp which isnt a problem if you like to solo. I tend to play healing classes like priest and druids and they solo really slow. Ive tried rerolling a rogue cause they solo better but still doesnt change the fact that I DONT like soloing at all. Its not fun cause its pretty much straight forward and before the encounter has been initiated the outcome is already known. With group combat the is a lot more skill required. As a priest in WoW solo pretty much boils than to casting a dot - cast shield - cast direct damage spells - shield wares off- take some dammage - cast heal or run e.t.c. However i find dueling 1 on 1 pretty fun image.

Yeah I played a Druid mostly and it kills slowly .... little downtime though. The priest is very slow. I played mostly in a duo with a mage (downtime haha!) and in larger groups with guildmates.

Yep, I agree. You may want to try rolling a rogue on a PvP server ... it's a very fun PvP class.

That is correct. Grouping is mostly required for certain goals: ex hard quest, tough mob that drops certain item. And it makes sense, why group if you can earn more exp soloing and you keep all special drops? Im more inclined towards soloing though, so to those people who like to group for the kick of it that could be a problem.... unless you are in a good guild. Guild makes a lot of difference. Especialy at higher levels, Im only 44 but a lot of my guildies are 60 and they constantly raid isntances or PvP together in a group. I rarely see anyone solo. It sounds a lot like EQ, with only difference is that you CAN solo your way to 60.

OHHH so it's like your bashing of EQ2's graphics?

If this is all it is just a simple way to tear down WoW, why isn't the same argument made about EQ2 or SWG or any other MMO out there? The reason people say it, is it's true. People that LIKE WoW say the community is awful, what motivation do they have?

No I think it all boils down to the fact that you're a pure fanboi. Someone who refues to believe ANYTHING could possiblly be wrong with a game you like. You said you posted things that criticized WoW? Please point them out to me, I'd LOVE to see them.

and since you like to do it to others so much, I thought I'd return the favor: You can't OVER-exaggerate anything. An exaggeration is an over estimation of facts. You can't OVER over-estimate.

Yeah, I thought I'd use the term "over-exaggerate" to highlight how ridiculous the extreme he was going to was. I hope you'll forgive my indiscrepancy.

Sorry if you missed my criticisms of WoW and Blizzard. I've said that Blizzard's communication with the community is very poor (although that's improving) and that the game is basically a paid beta at the moment, as well as other criticisms such as the current pointless PvP system.

And I'm not saying people are criticizing as a way to "tear down WoW". A few people posting their opinions on an internet forum isn't going to affect WoW's massive, record-breaking success one little bit.

Yes, WoW has it's fair share of griefers and unhelpful people, just as any MMO does, but I stand by what I said - saying that 29 out of 30 people are troublesome is just completely unrealistic and an obvious over-exaggeration (oops!)

Oh and for the trillionth time (please try to read and understand this), a fanboy is someone who diligently supports one particular company and buys their games without question, so that rules me out. In the game itself I havent noticed that much of an annoyance (but then again, I haven't randomly grouped with someone in a long, long time ... most of my grouping was with guildies). There was the occasional fool who thought opening a casino or doing a night elf strip tease on the bridge in Ironforge was a good idea, but generally I didn't see this too much in the game.

The message boards, however, are a horrifying display of how bad elements of the WoW community are, and so when I see criticisms of the community, I usually think of the official message boards, where it seems that every other post is "OMFG BLUE PLZ NERF PALADINZ!" or something like that, which inevitably leads to a series of flames. Every message board has its share of idiots and trolls, but the WoW boards, particularly the main one, is really, really bad, and I guess I assume that's what people are talking about when they mention the community. Other boards --- EQ2, SWG --- basically pick a game, hehe -- don't have this problem to anything like the degree that the WoW boards do, its the worst I've seen in a while.

Yeah, the moderators on the WoW forum just haven't been doing their job properly. As I've said before (I guess you missed this too Jodokai) people just post on any subject they like in the general forum and the threads never seem to get moved to the right section.

I'm just glad I didn't write off the community based on the forums as I probably wouldn't even have played WoW at all.

I did the same in beta, logged on, was disappointed by the graphics, logged off after less than an hour of play.  Purchased WOW after being very disappointed in "guess which game".  The early levels didn't "WOW" me and seemed tedious, but the other night I had a great time in an instanced dungeon.  Was like my early MMORPG glory days all over again.

I think until something much better comes along, WOW is a great game.  They took out most of the grief and you can still find those "magical" moments of game play.  But, you have to get up to the mid levels, in my opinion, before it starts to liven up.

I think thats why most people rate WoW community as poor - because of the forums. My advice, NEVER GO THERE. EVER. I mean, its like sitting in a prison cell with a 250 pound hairy bearded guy with nickname Cindy and not expect... well, you get the point.
Forums are like garbage bins, everyone spits, craps and pukes there. I really feel for GMs who have to read and answer some of that crap.
Peace out and stay away from official forums

Did you look up the word fanboy? What did it say? Or are you the one that made it up so you get to define what it means? To me a fanboi (or boy if you rather) is someone who plays a single game, doesn't have to be a company, and refuses to believe that anything could possiblly be wrong with the game they are playing. Until Webster's himself tells me I'm wrong, I'll use that definition thank you very much.

Now scroll up and reread where I restated my previous criticisms of WoW. Well there ya have it - I don't even fit within your definition of a fanboy.

Thanks for saving me the bother by proving yourself wrong.

A few things: The first that I have EVER heard you say anything bad about WoW was the post that came AFTER my post calling you a fanboi. So when I said it, you fit my definition. You've even gone so far as to call EQ2 crap compared to WoW, but didn't bother to post any type of comparison to support your beliefs even when asked directly.

I never said "29 out of 30" were troublesome, I said I can't stand 29 out of 30 people I meet. You don't have to be troublesome for me not to like you. Anyone who calls someone else a noob is immedately not liked. That alone takes out 60-70% of the community. 80-90% if you're on a PvP server (think I'm exaggerating? Prove me wrong)

    To quote you:

"Yes, and as I've said before, the reason for that is that people's experience with the community is entirely subjective and people who just flat out need to criticize WoW (despite its massive success, awards and rave reviews) can say "The community is terrible" without fear of rebuttal."

I took this to mean that despite overwhelming evidence, and the amount of people that say it, you think the only reason people say the communtiy sucks, is not because it's actually true, but so they can say something bad about WoW. If that is indeed your stance, you're starting to fall back into my definition of fanboi.

Good cover up on your over-exaggerate mistake, someone may actually believe you really did do it on purpose.

The "EQ2 vs WoW" thing is dead and buried. WoW won. No point digging that one up again.

It's not up to me to prove your claim wrong. It's up to you to prove it right. And just saying that there's overwhelming evidence doesn't magically make overwhelming evidence appear.

Let's see some evidence that 29 out of every 30 people in WoW behave in a way that you don't like, or let's just call it "your opinion" and leave it at that.

Note that I said "PEOPLE WHO NEED TO CRITICIZE WOW (despite its massive success, awards and rave reviews)....etc". I didn't say it's the only reason people say the community sucks - I actually detailed what I consider to be one reason why certain people criticize the community.

Re-wording my statement doesn't change its meaning.

On the subject of whether I'm a fanboy or not, what you fail to realise is that your opinion means less than nothing to me. Do you really think I lie awake at night worrying whether or not some random dude thinks I'm a fanboy? Mmmm... Nah.

There are lot of people on these forums who'll conveniently lie to back up whatever they want to say. I'm not one of them, but if that doesn't suit how you want to see things go ahead and twist my words again. You seem to have a real knack for that.

And again you avoid it, what are you afraid of? Just out of curiosity, how can one opinion "win" over another?

I already have, log your chat for about an hour and count the number of times you see the word "noob" Then do the same thing on ANY OTHER MMO.

I believe you missed the part where I said I TOOK THIS TO MEAN, or IF THAT IS INDEED YOUR STANCE. This means that is how I thought you meant it.

You obviously give some thought about proven by your need to defend yourself against it.

I didn't turn any of your words around. I actually copied a direct quote from you, didn't pull it out of context and displayed it for all to see what I'm talking about. I offered you the chance to correct me if I misunderstood your meaning. Nice speech, still think you're full of crap.

I'm not talking about one opinion winning over another. I'm talking about the opinion of the vast majority winning over the opinion of the minority.

That's a very good idea, and I would actually do it but of course you'd just accuse me of lying again when I presented my results, so determined are you to stick with your completely unrealistic and unreasonable opinion.

And as I confirmed above, that wasn't what I meant.

Your sentence doesn't make any sense. I'm sure you know what you mean though, and that's probably enough for you.

True. And I accepted your offer to correct your misunderstanding, and did so. I'm glad we've cleared that up.

This has been done over and over, and those comparisons have never lead to anything but flames. There is no way to compare them objectively, without bias, and having everyone to agree on it. Pro-WoW and Pro-EQ2 are meant to disagree forever.

Id limit my comparison to which game has reached the most customer so far, and that would be WoW. That's the only "fact" we have so far. All the rest is purely bias, opinions and tastes. And they differ greatly from person to person.

Sorry, I forgot the "it" and the comma.

The majority of the people thought it was all right to own slaves before the civil war, that make it right? "Vast majority" is a bit of a stretch since WoW sold 600k and EQ2 sold 400k.

As far as proof, tell me when and what server, my account is still active for another week, but to be honest I never actually figured out the actual ratio, but I do know this is a fact: In EQ2, I have to search to find people I can't stand to be around, in WoW I have to search to find people I like. You tell me what that says about the community. I have played EQ2 longer and more actively than I have WoW and I have NO ONE on my ignore list, in WoW I have a full list, and I play on an RP server in both games. You tell me what that says about the community. Those are the facts I've used to base my "unreasonable opinions" on.

Yes you did so, then accused me of "turning your words around" like it was a deliberate attempt.

And actually I haven't seen Firemagic once post what was better about WoW than EQ2. If you have tell me where, I'd love to see it. Most of the "comparison" threads break down to a WoW fan saying EQ2 is crap. When asked why WoW is better, the response: WoW sold more copies, or SOE Customer service is crap, or something else that has nothing to do with the merits of the games at all.

I'd love to see someone break it down:

Quest systems - pretty much identical

Combat systems - pretty much identical (push a button wait for it to recharge, both have power [or rage]  that deplete)

Every time asked, Firemagic evades the question. He bitches about other people not backing statements with facts, but doesn't want to do it himself.
