PC crashed and this is what it said...

in Hardware

My PC crashed and on the blue screen it said

 

Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

 

Technical info

Can anyone tell whats wrong from that? It also said something about hardware may not be installed correctly.

It only happens every once in a while but i have had the PC 2 or 3 weeks and bought it from e-bay

    That happen to me once,i found out it was caused by running a certain program so that might be your problem..

    Google that .sys file and see what program uses it first.

    Was only running Steam to downloading Crysis + xpac+ MP xpac and using  firefox looking at stuff about Guild Wars 2 on this site.

    Same stuff as usual.

     

    I also Googled tcpop.sys and really didn't find much info.

    One site said it could be a virus so i did a scan and found nothing.

    Another site says it has something to do with a p2p connection limit, really don't understand what it was talking about but i don't use p2p unless Steam is one.

    "Here is what microsoft says about it.

    Stop 0x000000D1 or DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

    The Stop 0xD1 message indicates that the system attempted to access pageable memory using a kernel process IRQL that was too high. Drivers that have used improper addresses typically cause this error.

    Interpreting the Message

    This Stop message has four parameters:Memory referenced. IRQL at time of reference. Type of access (0x00000000 = read operation, 0x00000001 = write operation). Address that referenced memory.Resolving the ProblemFor additional troubleshooting suggestions that apply to all Stop errors.

    Stop 0xD1 messages can occur after installing faulty drivers or system services. If a driver is listed by name, disable, remove, or roll back that driver to confirm that this resolves the error. If so, contact the manufacturer about a possible update. Using updated software is especially important for backup programs, multimedia applications, antivirus scanners, DVD playback, and CD mastering tools.
