Hey all;
I've been playing MMO's since 99 starting with Ultima Online. My case is similar to woman's shopping habit. I've bought and played almost every MMO out there. Here is the list of games - how much I played them and why I stopped playing.
Ultima Online (Played long, even came back like 2 years ago)
Lineage2 (at launch, to much of a grind now I hear its full of bots)
SW Galaxies (sadly never had time to get into it. Nowadays its screwed)
World of Warcraft (Played vanilla, and TBC. I hate that joining raids is a must)
Eve Online (Not my thing. Although it could be neat if it was designed for a fantasy world)
Guild Wars (Hated it back then. It's not a MMORPG).
Everquest2 (The time I played it had no expansions, heavily instanced and game world was too small - now it has lots to offer but somehow I don't like the way it looks and plays)
City of Heroes (Didn't like it back then)
Age of Conan (Loved it, reached end game but it lacks content everywhere, not much to do at end game and crafting is worthless, heavily instanced, small world)
Lotro (Looked ok, but I hate the idea of no-pvp. I actually like getting ganked - it makes questing more fun)
Warhammer Online (Kind of cool, but most of the time you look for FUN. Because rvr can get unbalanced. Also, its the same shit over and over again. Combat is about button spamming)
Aion (Eh.Characters and animations looks cool, but I didn't like the environment at all. The way mobs are designed is horrible. Got tired pretty quickly, because I was killing Mumus, Darus, Yetis and all sort of weird creeps).
Fallen Earth (Lack of polish - I am not a huge fan of the first person view in MMO's)
Darkfall (Worse then Fallen Earth. If you're doing a first person MMO then you should have great animations and physics)
I reached end game at UO(Lol), Wow, Age of Conan. Played WaR and EQ2 for a decent time). Sad thing that I missed Eq and Dark Age Of Camelot. I think its not a good idea to start with these games.
Now I'm looking for a saviour to pass the time. I'll be pretty busy after a month or so but I would consider playing it casually. P2P or F2P doesn't matter. Maybe you can help me look beyond the some issues I had with these games.
I mostly care about world pvp, crafting, housing, difference in itemization and visuals. (visuals should be at industry standarts, at least. Something worse then WoW is not acceptable).
Anything?

Try Runes of Magic, great game, but it requires some decent system specs.
Good luck with your search because you seem to have played most that's out there worth a shot but might I suggest just spending time offline until something new comes out to get you interested in playing again.
but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....
dungeons & dragons online! Give it a try. Its free to play but offer alot of additional char creation options and adventures if you like it and wqant to spend some rl cash on the game. You can prolly reach max lvl for free if you just want to try it and dont want to spend any money. it is really solo friendly but really good for small groups.
I'm not sure if I should recommend this since you said you like open world PvP which this game does not have, but if you like crafting, housing and visuals and don't mind one of these features missing then I suggest checking out Final Fantasy 14.
I recommend it since it seems that it has taken some features off UO and applied them to Everquest style gameplay. That means, you can finish the game by playing a crafting or resource gathering class and don't even have to fight if you don't want to. There will also be housing of some kind for sure, although nobody knows in how large scale this will happen yet.
The beta is starting in this month or the next and it should take around half a year for the game to release, so it's not something you could test out right away unfortunately. However, it might be worth looking into because it will have similar features to UO and some things you seem to find enjoyable.
Can you explain "difference in itemization" though?
Lol, I forgot Vanguard SoH. Now that could have been a great game but it lacks population nowadays.
Thanks for suggestions guys, I'm checking those games now.
The thing is, I already took a break in may. Then I came back and tried a few titles. But I never played them for long enough. (A week each, 2 maybe).
As previously mentioned, sounds like you've tried pretty much everything out there and nothing stikes your fancy anymore. I think you need at least a 3-6 month break and then you can give a try the new games slated for this year.

I totally agree. Go play some console games to pass your time, there's some really good ones out there.
There really aren't that many MMOs to try. I heard some one say Runes of Magic, which is A LOT like WoW. DDO is too heavily instanced, and the graphics look like they put together some legos and painted them brown/grey.
P.S. If you loved AoC, do you plan on playing it when the xpac comes out?
This statement is false.
Well, would it be better if there were rather many alternatives for each tier of sets so not everyone would be wearing the same equipment, and if you could dye the armor as well as attach different symbols to it to make it more unique? Also, what is it that you don't like about T1/T2/T3?
FFXIV will feature a Market for players to buy ingredients from each other and stuff. Like, you don't have to fight monsters to get ingredients, you can just buy them off the market. Or you don't have to be a high level Tanner to get Sheep leather, you can buy it from a high level Tanner instead. That kind of stuff will have a big role.
Lol, I gotta learn how to quote first.
I think drops and crafted should be random (random stats and such) and somewhat unique if not completely. Of course, if there are sets that everyone wearing, I would like to see different tiers instead of 1 for each class.
As for Conan's expansion.. Well I don't know. They promised to many things at launch but some of them didn't made it yet. I know there is a new race and some new content but other then visuals, combat and physics(I loved all of them to death, that's why I took my time in Conan) that game needs a huge overhaul. Since instancing won't change, I would like to see something other then pvp xp grind and boring raids. Some decent crafting maybe? Complete new pvp system which not only rewards kills but gives penalties when you die? Atm, even pvp is a mindless grind.
I've played many of those games too, Zeppelin8. I was looking for a game aswel, you should try Allods Online... I leave you with the link.
It's a Fantasy MMORPG, It's set in a world where instead of Planets like Tyria, and The Outlands and Azeroth... You get Allods... These are small spacial Islands which were once Planets, but were split into Islands.
The World of the game is very pretty, it's not the biggest but the variety of landscapes is huge, the graphics can be compared to a improved version of World of Warcraft's, and there are two factions, League and the Empire, League is something like Alliance and Empire like Horde... There is not World PVP except in "The Holy Lands" a huge high-level place where you can be "ganked" and "gank".
The Producers promised for a non-Item Mall dependant game... Meaning that everything you get in the Item Mall is either for character styling or for unecessary goods, XP Potions, etc... Also, it is said that you can buy things from the Item Shop with game currency.
There are many classes for each of the races. There is a wide Guild System, and there's High-End PVE... But, this game appears to be soloable so no need to raid.
NOTE: Allods Online is currently at CBT #3, The release of the game should be February or April.
Good luck.
