The last few years have seen alot of poor releases that were really heavy on the hype, most gamers are very apathetic right now. Since pre-CU SWG was sent down the drain thanks to Smed I've only played 2 MMOs that were worth it in my opinion. EvE online that was released in like 2003 and Darkfall that was released 2009, the only other release that seems to be half decent that I haven't played is LotRO. Not because I've tried it, but because there's very little negative feedback.
The rest have been 99% hype and 1% substance with only excuses after launch and false promises. I'm glad to be playing DFO with a company that for now seems genuine, but I'm still angry because I feel that others ripped me off. I ordered a steak and got a runny camel poo burger in short, and then you're told to eat it and the taste will improve.
In the last 5 years you've got a few that are good, the rest are all just little more than bottom feeders swindling gamers out of their cash, and you wonder why so many people that post are pissed off?

If I were to place money on what I thought was the biggest culprit it would be maturity or time spent on the internet. Too much time on the net tends to warp a mind.
Also the internet tends to attract social retards due to the non-personal no consequence atmosphere allowing them interaction that they control. After a while groups of these people form and become large. Sadly every so often we see a death star porportioned super group of social retards form void of all purpose other than their own personal desires to tear others down. When you have a super group as big as this you need special olympics to let off some of this negative energy but all the forums can offer is WoW bashing and Darkfall hype.
Not sure if the OP can say what sites heh, last time someone mentioned another sites forums it got deleted..or maybe it was because he put a link to it...either way there are some good game sites out there for discussion.
I been spending time on zam's site...the asylum is probably worse then our political/religious section lol...

Not the typical "oh that was good" I'm talking "HOLY CRAP I SEE STARS".
I figure if just 25% of the forum population tried this they'd be less inclined to debate over whether Darkfall or Wow is gayer than christopher lowel at a gay pride parade.
I only read responses which are in paragraph or point-form. I am really only using this site for the first day, and have so far bypassed most negative commentary : )
I remember when WoW first came out: Most people on this site were fervent EQ2/EVE etc. supporters and would deride anybody who supported or even brought up positive aspects about the game. WoW was "as deep as a puddle" and "too easy".
Now that their games have gone down the shitter, it's getting hard for them to call WoW the worst mmorpg of all time, but I'm sure that the next game to break 1 million subs in the west will face the same scorn from the same elitists.
This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.

Why would anyone open a door for someone that just flipped them off? If you even have to think about it, you failed.
Not MMORPG
A lot of games they've put recently on this site don't really fall into the MMORPG category.
?
I am staying right here...MMORPG.com is the bestest source for all things MMORPG related and more. It is awesome.

If you want a good, mature, non-troll community...just go to the Escapist forums. Best forum community I've been in.
If you want to troll and piss people off and steal blogs/news and stuff (like I do)...then use this site
Because you are ebil.
yeah escapist forums aren't bad.
MMORPG is still the best site even with all the trolling heh. One big happy dysfunctional family

true, they should make a better definition of what an mmoRPG is about
or, they should change the name in MMO.COM,
there are a lot of less-quality games added to the list, and maby those attract all those rude people ^^

Whatever you guys are fighting over... I think mmorpg is a good forum site. You can get all the help you need here besides the trolling and flaming ^^
Who's fighting? I must have missed it....
