I watched the video allright. What really troubles me with all these games is they put too many shiny effects even for simple sword swings like they want to impresskids. Not to mention that if 4-5guys fighting together u wont be able to observe many things due to the special effects spam. Its better to actually be able to watch the weapons movements without anyimpressive effects like it happens in oblivion than these japanese /corean style battles they keep making.

Lol, before you criticize the Asian community you might want to learn how to spell Korean. While I understand some of these games have a crazy plethora of special effects i.e. Cabal Online (even though I personally think it's badass), Continent of the Ninth is actually more conservative than you make it out to be.

Hmm i just critised the programmers of the game not asian community man lol. My point is that in many games they focus on meaningless effects alot instead of gameplay and more usufull stuff. This game may have good possibilities thoguh.Above all is fun after all.

I didn't mean to call you out as a racist, lol. I understand what you mean.
For those who prefer TERA and hate F2Ps, TERA is F2P in Asia and will be P2P in America, technically, you'll get the same quality as a F2P title.
I have no clue if, should C9 ever release international, will be F2P or P2P but I think F2P would make sense.
As for the graphics, keep in mind that C9 is somewhat of a "lobby-based" game so the game drains less energy server and client-wise, allowing developers to improve the graphic a lot. This is usually why you have the ability to change the graphic settings from Low to High.
This isn't Aion, it might be shiny but it's a real action-based "MORPG" that involves more than just flying around with shiny wings and shooting homing fire balls....
Its a fun game! Play it when youre bored of your real mmorpg. If you play it several hours a day it gets boring... but thats no problem cuz you have something like fatigue. When you run out of it you wont get exp and have to play an alt, do pvp, craft... whatever =D
hyping a game over a trailer - check F2P game - check asian grinder - check doublecheck
recipe for fail
Do you like God of War,Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden? What if you could play it online with a couple of friends or big community,What if you could pvp against friends ? That does not sound a recipe for failure.
If people can't tell difference in quality of games like requiem, allods, perfect world, ddo, atlantica, rune of magic, spellborn to say 2moons,9 dragons,Shaiya,12 sky or Cabal that your fault. It is silly to think F2P/Microtransaction mmo won't improve over time,It silly to think that every single Asian mmo will be bad

let me introduce you to the standard Asian MMO development cycle
Phase #1- Implement time sinks. Plenty of time sinks. Hordes of idiotic, unneeded, obnoxiously boring time sinks
Phase #2- Plan ahead a cash shop. highlighting items to cut in half the terrible time sinks you purposedly introduced and powerup items that make buyers godlike when compared to non-buyers.
Phase #3- Focus on amazing visuals for the first levels. then use the same (slightly reskined) models 10 times for the same kind of enemy. nevermind the controls, they can be as clunky as you want.
Phase #4- If there is time (most likely no) add some unoriginal half baked story, and some dull some content to grind void of any entertainment value after the novelty of it wears out (1 to 5 hours)
Phase #5- Release. Offer little to none customer support, absolute lack of GM manpower, and utterly ignore the concerns of your western players since all the input you care about (if that) comes from easterns.
Sorry but i have zero faith on ever playing an asian F2P game that doesnt make me fall in a frenzy of self harming.
