New player guide / Freeloaders guide

LawbreakerLawbreaker Member Posts: 9

Hi, I'm hoping that this doesn't infringe the rules (I did look honest) if the post is bad please snip the link.

I'm kinda focused on playing Eve for free and I see that alot of people in this forum just say stump up the cash (fair comment) but regardless I started looking into it because i'm obsessive compulsive.  I found that since i'm dealing with trial accounts (since the aim is to go direct from trial to free account)  i'm also facing new player challanges so anything i write seems to be useful for them also.

If people find it useful would be great to go in your guides sticky but any feedback would be great.

So far i've looked at Mining and now i'm moving on to Refining but with Xmas and all it's been slow.

Your doing fine, just do not ask for or mention a PVE server. You've been given fair warning.

Hmm I was much more impressed with my Exequror build it took days to get right and if your doing solo work outperforms everything else in it's class. Glad you liked the build but if your more advanced probably not much use to you.

If this is for me i'll take it that i've been given fair warning if you explain what you mean? Sorry don't have a clue what  PVE in this context means.

Dunno... doesn't it take like 50 hours of highsec mining to buy a plex for a month? I didn't check recently, but last time I did it was about that much?

And given the current hunt for Hulks... I guess we'll see a few F2P miners rummage for their CC soon.

"which equals about 120 hours. Given that we aren’t going to get to our peak for a while I think it’s more likely to be about 200 hours"

Minning isn't great if you want to plex anytime soon after joining. I'm sure there will be better ways.

I think that's an interesting project - but since I have never played eve, I was wondering:

How much time would you have to invest in order to get the ISK to pay  for a month and would you say that this time is spend playing the game (in a fun way)? In other words, aren't you creating a second job with really sucky pay (divide 15€ or equivalent in BP by the hours invested to get your 330 million ISK)?

    Anyway, good luck ;)

For me the intrest is success even if the job is a little boring. I really can't see a way that most normal people could say it's better to play2play over pay2play, however there are always exceptions.

In all cases this is improving my knowledge of the game and i'm planning to try everything (however slowly) so that the best method is known.

After one method (minning) the best answer is ~200 hours. I could have tried it, but i'm not THAT sad (even if it took me 200 hours to work it out :)

Im one of those who would like to see ccp make a pve server as well as a pvp alot of folks get upset when i advocate this and with the last patch ccp did there has been an increase in high section miners getting wacked by gankers. My guess would be you worked pretty hard to get your mining going and some ass wipe killed you in high section space you may not resub. I could be wrong.

Each to thier own, Personally it's not something i would like to see.
