The price influences the peoples opinion on the game. If it would cost 5€ people would say "that can't be good". If it's costy, many people automatically assume that it must be something special and great.
*sigh* What is this world coming to? It's not gonna take many years now before people start demanding all games be free of charge. Just think about how cheap a game can be in difference to an evening at the cinema with bought snacks on the side, or an evening at a bar, if your old enough.
By cheap in comparison I mean that a game can provide countless hours of fun and entertainment. Much more so then a trip to the cinema or a bar or something like that.
Pointless thread really...
The people and the friends that we have lost, and the dreams that have faded, never forget them~

That is not the point; PC games usually cost £30...Why the £10 mark up.
I got my Price from Game when I came to pre order it and Steam, But Amazon have it on sale for £25 so I’ll probably just get it from there then.
People went mental when MW2 did the same thing >.>

The game is £30 from Game. Steam has it for £40 but they're always a bit more pricey.
One place that surprised me is play.com, they're normally the best price, but they're selling it at £35.

Seems Amazon has the best deal going, you get to play in the beta and the headstart, plus you get a little borg officer that follows you around. All for £25 ;P
I noticed the price was $59.99 for pre-order. If you do the pre-order from Atari, there is $54.99 for the full deluxe version (or something like that), and then they tack on an additional $5 for "pre-order" which I assume is the head start and open beta access?
Strange pricing for games these days. Developers probably figure if there's people willing to spend the money, then why not charge 'em max dollar?
Sucks.

Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)
Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)
Not sure where you got £40 for regular from, its £25 through most UK retailers

The Pre-Order on steam is the Digital Deluxe Edition, and we all know GAME are usually overpriced anyway :P

And steam usually have decent prices...they just take a little longer to go down in price.
www.direct2drive.co.uk/buy-mmo-pc-games-download perhaps stop thinking that steam is the only online digital download site and youl get it cheaper

I'll wait for the free client and free trial, and then unlimited free trial and f2p model.

£40 on Steam with no box, disc or manual = Joke right?
They must be having a laugh........................................
£40 is the RRP
Amazon.co.uk has it for £24.99 with free Borg officer, beta access and Early Access
Game.co.uk has it for £29.99 with free TR-116 Phaser rifle and Early Access.
It's because of the pre order ingame items you get with the pre order.
