Can I play FFX IX online from the Philippines?

Hi everybody,
Like the topic says I'm wonderinf if anybosy has tried this. My Brother is in the US and he plays FFIX online and we thought this would be a great way to stay in touch longer without the overseas telephone bills wiping him out. If it were possible could you list what i'ls need/need to do to make it work?
Im thinkin:
1. an original pc copy of the game...duh ^_^
2. an account with playonline (my brother is springing for that one)
3. an above average spec PC - got that.
4. uh......am I forgeting anything?
I heard from some post (forgot where) that FFXI online was gonna begin beta testing in the Philippines in Jun-July. Anybody hear anything like that?
I hope you gauys can help.

Well you could import it from the US/JP/EU and then install it on your computer. You'll need a valid address from one of those areas (for instance your brother's address) to be able to play it though. Other than that you just need the game and a Credit/Debit Card.
As far as BETA in Philippines, I havent heard anything about it but then again i havent been looking for it because I already have the game :x
