I have six 21-day trial invites for this month. If you end up subscribing, I will give 100 million isk to your character.

    it seems that our moderator doesn't like trial invite threads anymore. this thread will also be locked soon imo.

    100 mln. isn't that much. If you look at recruitment channel for a while, you can easily find someone willing to pay 200 mln. if you start a new account using their trial keys.

    *edit* I agree, such posts should be locked. People do need to help each other, but all the get me a free month spam here is ridiculous. If someone likes the game, they will subscribe, no matter if they have played 2 or 3 weeks. I know I did after just 3 hours of trial.

    Even if you subbed after 3 hours, the duration of the trial should have still been applied to your account. Therefore, you would have had something like 30 days + 13 or 14 days until your next payment. That said, why wouldn't someone want an extra 7 days free. If someone is willing to pay you 100M ISK then that much better. While it may not seem like much, its certainly more then you started with right?

    no it was called "want a 21 day trial instead of a 14 day trial?"  it was really really long and people who wanted to try the game and give someone credit for bringing them could keep adding their info to give people invites

    I had 2 moths of game time, no trial added, because I bought the boxed version, which comes with a 60 day voucher (that was in spring 2009, less than a year ago).  The box has a bonus ship with it, but in order to use it, I had to start a new account, so the trial time didn't really count. BTW, where I live the box is cheaper than paying each month via credit card, I end up saving something like 5 euro each time I buy it from a retailer and just use the code there.

    Other than that, yes, 100 mln. can be useful at starters, but so far I am yet to be in a situation, where money is an issue. Never did in the first few months of playing, and I cannot imagine its different for the other players (afterall, I am not that good of a gamer). My sole obejction is to the people, who try to outbargain each other, offering trials and ISK. I am sure CCP dosn't mind it, afterall that's what gets them part of the new subs, but they way I see it, nobody here does it to actually help a new player - you are all trying to help yourselves.

    If you really care about the new players, take them in a corp, show 'em the ropes of missioning, pvp, etc. Then they can make the 100 mln. ISK on their own, and will actually be thankful to you.

    Makes sense about the boxed version. I've only ever dealt with the trial and the balance of time was added to the subscription.

    As far as trying to help new players, I'll agree to disagree. Sure there is an added motive for some, but I can't really fault them. I mean, if you are using the trial and intend to convert it, the boxed version pricing/perks isn't really an issue so you are getting 7 extra days and 100M ISK while, at the same time, providing a benefit to another player. I don't get the complaint. The other option, if you aren't getting the box, is to get the standard 14 days and no extra ISK. Ultimately, the "Money for free if you're in the trial" thread is a bit more altruistic for sure though.

    I certainly agree that taking a player into a corp, showing them the useful websites, and other "outside the tutorial" stuff is more valuable in the long run.
