Still unsure about MXO.

I don't feel like blowing another $50 here and there for something I will only end up throwing in the trash 30 days later (WoW & EQII).

I keep looking into the Matrix Online and I am not seeing a whole lot that I would potentially dislike, but, something in the back of head (perhaps my conscious) is trying to inform me otherwise of my recently poor judgment.

With credit card in hand, I plan on either preordering MXO or Guild Wars tonight, all opinions greatly appreciated.

If your a fileplanet subscriber you can dl the open beta client for the matrix.  I really liked guildwars  and thats the game I will be getting.  I'll skip MXO just because its no where near as fun as GW.  Both are good games but as far as fun value GW takes it easily

You can try the FP Stress Test starting monday, or you can preorder MXO with 5$ and get into beta, you dont have to buy the full thing, but for 5 bucks you can try it out free till it launches. If you want to play it then -- its up to you. Guild Wars and MXO are both very different games in very different themes. So its really up to what you desire.

I tried Guild Wars and I enjoyed it -- I am very bored of anything considered "high fantasy".

I need a good dose of sci-fi and am wondering what potential MXO has in its wake?

I read something along the lines where I could learn one tree and then swap trees as I saw fit. Maybe I was reading a thread full of crap, but, that didn't exactly appeal to my senses. I like role customization and option differentials that have a lasting impact, that’s the reason why World of Warcraft and the trendy “cookie cutter” based games like Lineage 2, City of Heroes, and EQII are dead to me now.

Curious. I am still wondering that myself. =p

I guess I can hold out untill then.

You can swap anything in and out assuming you have the code for it and the prerequisites :P

Those are the gameplay basics for MXO, should draw a clear picture for you on what to expect :P

I suggest you get into the Beta and check it out...i'm still under NDA but I think I can say that this MMO is doing things differently than any MMO I've played and I'm having a ton of fun with the community aspects.  I think Matrix Online will prove to be a winner in the long run...Monolith as a developer has an awesome track record.

This is a great time to check it out. Grab that beta key from Fileplanet.

I pre-ordered it along with a few other things at ebgames. Still downloading the client now.

after seeing the combat in this game i HAVE to give it a try. 50 bucks is a small price to pay for such a kick ass fighting system. from what ive seen its a thousand times better than WoW EQ2 and alot of the other ones (But i still like WoW better)

You dont have to pay 50$ to try the combat O_o

A 5$ preorder will get you into beta heh.

Maybe you should reserve your judgement on what you like better until its actually launched. And had however many months of dev time that WoW has. I think its unfair otherwise.

And as I've said millions of times, need help, pm me, kthx :P
