My experience is rather non-existent, because after downloading the game for the free trial, I'm forced to spend all day downloading a patch the size of Montana, which breaks down and gives me a file error message shortly before it completes. Have tried it twice now with the same result. Suggestions?

Yowtch! Well, could be worse... you could be downloading an AoC patch.
You aren't running Windows 98, by any chance? 4.2 gig max file size.
All I got. Sorry! Any other machine you might be able to install on successfully then copy over?
I suggest getting better internet if you haven't already. I got the full game downloaded, installed, patched and running within 3 hours. But hey, that's from Steam and my country provides decent internet with decent speeds. We can't all be in luck.
I live in a huge apartment building that's all on one ISP, so I can't change that. My comp is sufficient; it's not on W98. I can deal with a slow download; I can't deal with error messages and no download.
Might be a sign...
I guess the obvious answer would be to contact their support line or visit their forums and search for users with similar issues.
