How do you enjoy EVE ?? =(

DolmongDolmong Member Posts: 515

Hi Guys, I keep coming back and forth with Eve-online, because weirdly I got bad experience compare any other MMO i played.

Start off with I always can't find a good corp to join in (except the ones that you will assign if you don't have the corp), as well the learning curve is too steep I as well can't find anyone closely to teach me.  I wanted to enjoy this game as this is pretty solid community base game and I want to get something out of it.

Well, I tried to be trader as I am not Hardcore (no time) enough to drill in the game, but I found it a bit boring to be miner so I switched to combat but few corps I joined they told me to move to their area then they didn't tell me what to do or any cool ways to earn more isk or exploration, so I left in cold in the cooler space and sometimes I lost my stuffs coz got blown up at 0.0 sec ( yea I got told to go there coz 0.0 sec offers AWESOME things.  That is the most difficult time I was having (even though I was pretty enjoy it coz it was pretty real in real life)

So the only most enjoyable time is sitting in Jita camping the Market to earn cool isk.  I was almost being the one control the market on the item prices, and that what made me felt successive in this game.  However, it will wear out fast as you don't wanna sub the game just sitting in the station.

Anyway back to the point is, I don't know how to enjoy this game, as even I join the corps (yea maybe I'm having bad luck) I left out cold in the space when I went to their places but they afterall didn't help me much to go on and becoming a good pilot.  Please give me advice !!!

Join Eve University Corp! After a few months with them, you'll know how you want to enjoy EVE; or if it's even the game for you.

Take the advice above and join the University.

You could also look in the recruitment channel for a corp that takes and trains noobs, join them, after a few days if you dont get what you expect leave them and look for another, there are always loads of corps looking for members. You could also look on the EVE online forums under the Recruitment section.

Any corp that says you should come to 0.0 should provide you with adequate protection.

Another option is to run agent missions(combat) this will give you a solid grounding in combat, how and what modules to fit etc. And is a great source of isk. Once you get more confident you can again look for a corp to join.

I'm loving it after recently returning and starting over.

I find the starter NPC corp friendly and helpful so far with some good people in it (Gallente) and I'm also in the Eve University public channel quite a bit.

I'm just taking it easy this time around, no rush, building up some base skills  and seeing who I meet and what will happen.

    Super fun so far.

First of all, EVE is a game of focus.  While you can pursue multiple careers, you can't do them all at once.  So pick a path and stick with it until you have it mastered, then move on to another path.

Sounds like you've bounced around with mining, trading, and combat, and probably done the same with your skill training as well. This is not the road to success.

There are allegedly great rewards in 0.0, but for the newer player it really isn't true IMO and I'd stay out of it until you get your combat skills up a bit since everyone has to help in home defense and you need them to rat effectively as well.

Regarding earning ISK, EVE is like the real  world, if everyone tries to do something profitable, it quickly becomes unprofitable.  Therefore most players who are really earning the big money are not going to share with you how they do it unless they are close friends or in your corp.

You have taken up market  trading, and thats great, from what I understand is one of the best ways to earn ISK in the game, and you can do it with a market alt that never leaves station.  There are a few guides out on the internet that will provide some guidance but it sounds like you might have already figured a lot of it out.

AS for training people, few corporations will actually do that.  EVE University is one of the best fof new players, whereas Agony Unleashed is a good one for learning PVP. (they hold classes for non-members as well).

There are countless guides on the internet to assist you in every aspect of EVE and I recommend you read them all. For starters I recommend this one.

    eve.battleclinic.com/guide/3510-BattleClinic-s-EVE-New-Player-Guide.html

There are many more for mining, pvp, exploration and trading.

Now, for a longer term goal, start training for wormhole life.  Work on flying a well fitted  Remote Repping  Dominix Battleship with T2 Sentry drones.   Once you have that you can join up with a wormhole team and start earning some really good ISK.

My team runs class 4 sites and in a typical 3 hour session I can make 200 - 300M ISK.  There are people running Class 5 and 6 holes that earn far more, but I'm happy enough with the returns on my investments at this point in time. (class 4's are pretty low stress)

Also, the nice thing about wormhole living is it is 0.0 space so you are free to fight other players which happens on a more occasional basis than out in K-space, but makes for a nice diversion from time to time.

thx for all the advice.  I think you make me have a goal to play EVE-online

I am going for exploration as going to the wormhole, as well I probably going to join up EVE university to start and learn all the things !!!!

Anyway, I should be fast to learn many skills as I already got all the LEARNING training done. so are there any sites which is very good to suggest about fittings, combats, and exploration ??

I'm Gallente by the way, any idea as well ??

Pretty much all you need right there.

Don't worry about flying Gallente ships because that's your race, choose what you like the look of / sound of and run with that.

This is some great advice. Thanks Kyleran for taking the words out of my mouth! Concentrate on one thing at a time.

Dont be so quick to go into 0 .0 sec space. It can be like a beautiful mistress with VD. if you do go combat and join a 0.0 corps make sure they have a ship replacement program!

Eve Universtiy is also a good way to start learning combat!

Also dont lone wolf for 4-5 months like I did Initially. It makes for a boring game.

Just a point of order, while there's no need to match your race to the ships you train, for wormholes you'll find Gallente ships like the Dominix to be particularly well suited for running Sleeper combat ops.

But that said, we also bring Megathrons and Apocs (Amarr BS)  for DPS and even an occasional Scorpian (Caldari) along to control the incoming DPS when there's a large number of BS spawns.

In class 5/6's they are more likely to bring out some of the bigger ships such as Mauraders like the Paladin, and we even have a team in my corp that flys Carriers in class 5's, which can be perilous at times since they spawn 6 additional BS at the site. (Scorpians become really necessary in this situation)

But even in upper level holes you won't go wrong by having a well fitted, remote repping Dominix so that's what I'd recommend to shoot for.

Also, you'll want to train some form of covert ops ship like a Buzzard or Helios (?) and get to work on learning how to scan because that's the lifeblood of wormhole life, quickly scanning down new sites, wormholes and enemy players.

    What everybody else said.

Also, when you're ready to move on from the university, often Corps have two branches, one in high sec space and one in 0.0.  See if you can get into the one in high sec and learn from them, then once you know the ropes, try to get in with the 0.0 sec space corp.

0.0 sec space is NOT for the loner.  Mining there should usually be done with several mates; some to protect, some to mine, and some to haul to base.

This game is all about the corp; how helpful they are to you, and you are to them.  You'll make alot more ISK as a unit than you could each make individually.

So how will you know you are ready to take a step out into the 0.0 world?

And for mining, you said some will haul back ores. Is there a way to transfer Ores between two ships when not docked?

Me and a friend are trying to group up. (We are fairly new to the game as I am still a week old in my trial acct) My friend is doing mining and I am military. So I guess we could do some serious 0.0 pirating/mining in the future.

How will we know when we are ready?

I think it will just be something that naturally happens. As you're going about your day to day tasks, mining, ratting, missions or whatever you'll come to a point where you say 'hey, this is too easy now' and you'll move to a different area, be it for better ore, higher level agent or whatever.

So far as I can see, the more profitable something is, the lower the security space it's in.

Don't stress too much thinking 'I have to be in 0.0 or I'm failing', take your time, enjoy the beauty of the game, meet some people and things will happen almost by themselves with regards to your progression.

Most of all, relax and have fun!

Eh, not really. The best PvE resource is in highsec, as is trading and manufacturing.

    I stand corrected, thank you.

Judging by your title, I hope I never meet you in game. (I mean that in the nicest possible way)

When your corp says they're willing to escort you.

yes.  via secured or unsecured containers.

I suggest joining a corp as a duo.  Build your skills to complement each other; one builds to mine more, and one builds to haul more, etc.

Trust me.  This game is all about grouping, and corps.  And having 2 of your is a positive over 1.

Find a good corp with good people. There is alot of trash in Eve and if you dont find good people you will probably not like the game and that may sound easier than it actually is. So join corps but dont be afraid to bail if you dont feel right.
