Why no airship mmos?

Why arn't there any mmo based on large airship combat?

Is the market too small?

    well eve online is kind of like that (but in space)

    to make an airship game would simply be to change the backdrop box into clouds instead of nebulas? (and of course change the ship models, though it would go in the same principle no?

    Allods is what your looking for in closed beta atm but its lets you get your own airship and pvp with it, also your friends can be on it operating it and boarding other ships.

     

    Pretty cool, cant get airship in closed beta atm tho, so wait for open beta thats what i am doing

    Ok, i have an airship mmo!

     

    I was looking for more one the lines of a gritty style airship mmo ... that looks like the "last exile" anime...but hey i have an airship mmo!

    Guns of icarus, not an mmo but looks pretty fun in multiplayer.

    Next to Wolf's Rain, Last Exile is my all time favorit anime...it would actually make a good MMO

    "Crimson Sky" could have been a nice mmo but afaik even the single player game was no comercial success.

    It had really cool planes and even airships...

    Exactly my thoughts. FASA even made a pen and paper RPG for it but it wasn't released because the company died before they had the time to release it.

     

    The anime serie "Lost exile" could also work as setting for a MMO or some other kind of steam punk setting.

    i think the question is more why no steam punk MMO's?

     

    Airships are mostly featured in Steampunk settings (and yes it would be sweet to play a game with em) but there is a severe lack of Steampunk MMO's and and even bigger lack of decent ones.

     

    I would love to see Airships in an MMO but i highly doubt it could be the sole focus of the game.  Instead i would prefer to see a game with ship, airship and ground combat or at the very least airships as mounts/transports.

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
    -Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

    NeoSteam is in the steampunk genre.
    WoW also has steampunk environments (Gnomer, remember?)
