Is your only source Amazon? If so, then don't hold your breath.
i pre-ordered of a a site that had a release date of 18th feb, that changfed to mid april ... arena net have not set a release date so any website saying there is a shipment date are guessing. and march would be a poor guess .
i was just sayin to raise some spirits
and its my 1st day as a member
We can all hope Sasuke... nothing wrong with that. I have seen a few differant ship dates on websites that are taking pre-orders. I am still hoping for the end of March, but only time will tell.
Wait until ArenaNet have said it's words
Hope it will be good words.
Hope They not pushing away this release date too far, all game is getting older every day in graphic detail, ideas etc, and ppl will be tired of waiting and loose their interest.
ArenaNet, Its up to you!
By the way, anyone knows if we have any working guys, responsible person or other ppl from ArenaNet on this community?

The last official word from Gail was that the ONLY release date released officially is "Early 2005" And she posts regularily on this site. She's easy to find as her title is "Arena.net Community Manager" or something like that.
Until I hear otherwise from official sources that''s what I'm going by.
Yeah. Like the rest of us I hope that the game comes out as soon as possible. Sometime in March might be realistic for several reasons. Firstly, no news bout a march beta event. Secondly, the delay of February beta event. This was probably to test the product near the final build right before it goes gold. Hopefully all of this adds up to a March release.
itd have to be a real late march release.like march 20-31
From what I understand they run up 4-5 builds a day, and will be able to do so after release, even to fix minor stuff. So that's not the problem I don't think. Well if you count all the content they're adding as part of the build, then I guess so.
But that's basically what they're doing now. Adding art, features, items, mobs and the rest. The only thing holding them back from releasing it is putting all the stuff in it they want to be there at release. And they're pretty adamant about not releasing it before then.
I hope they get to that point by March. But knowing their priorities (in a general way) I wouldn't be totally shocked to see them wait until April or May, even June. I'm sort of with everyone else on that. Hoping for March, will try not to be too pissed if it's May. Even if it is, though, it will be for some damn good stuff.
Facts:
-I ordered guild wars on this specific date: 2/2/2005 12:08:14 AM.
-EB games claims that it ships out on "03/22/2005" .
Opinion:
~Since we cant settle on the same date, Im going to say that dont rely on specific dates to be accurate. I agree that if they give us a release date it hinders there progress. Take fable for instance, they moved their release date back five or six times.

Well from what i've found there are 2 major dates flying around, Gamespot has it at 3/22/05, then Gamefaqs has it at 4/18/05 so we can probably assume it to be released within those 2 months provided they don't run into too many problems
A little away form the original date but not too far. I can live with the date, Arena are doing a good job. Not rushing to get the product out there, I like that. Something worth doing is worth doing right. Can't say that about other gaming company and im glad I can say it about this one.
I choose quality over punctual any day.

I further researched the shipment date this is what i found:
♣ Gamestop claims it ships-"ETA:3/22/05"
♣ CompUSA claims it ships-"Expected Ship Date: Tuesday, April 05, 2005"
♣ Best Buy claims-"Release Date: 4/18/2005"
♣ EB Games claims it Ships-"3/22/05"
♣ Amazon claims-"This item will be released on March 1, 2005. You may order it now and we will ship it to you when it arrives."
♣ Fry's Electronics, I looked, not too hard, but they didnt name a obvious date.
All these vendors were featured on "http://www.guildwars.com/preorder.html" so they should have some validity, but ultimately it is up to AreaNet, so dont believe any of them, this is probably the time frame given so just average them and hope that they dont run into too much trouble.

play.com are showing 1st april but that is probably just an assumed date... as its still in testing it could be pushed back.

There has not been an official release date set yet. I've seen copies of the email updates EB Games sends out to its preorder customers, and those emails are very clear that the date they have listed is only a *guess* and not based on any specific information. The same applies to the other sites, whether they admit to it or not.
With regards the release timing around the world ... ArenaNet are currently planning a simultaneous (well, as simultaneous as possible, given time zones and different standard release days) release. So it should be available on the same day, same week at the very worst, in the UK as it is in the US.
As has been pointed out, Gaile reads these forums regularly and is ArenaNet's Community Relations Manager. There are other staff who are a little less obvious lurking around as well...
whatever the date is i will be happy to wait for this game.
It sure is gonna be a hell of a mmorpg. currently playing EQ2, but i think ill retire eith that when GW is released
Yea i agree its better to put it off a little bit and put out a quality product then to rush it to market.
True, although the waiting is painfull. If I´d just get that Beta-key, it might take some of the pain away..
