Hey, I've been looking for a good medieval fantasy mmofps that is f2p or b2p. If such a thing exists, I would prefer that it involve magic, but that isn't entirely necessary. Thanks.
You may want to check out Guild Wars, it is heavly instanced (which I like), but it is b2p. There is a forum for it here that discusses issues with that game, but as you can see below, I love it. I am not saying it is perfect, and it may not be for you.
There is no crafting and it is not a sandbox so expect it to be story-lined.

It is not a FPS game however.
OP: Darkfall is the only out there now and it is P2P. Sorry, nothing exist right now andI doubt we will see one soon because almost every F2P game is asian and asians don't seems to like MMOFPS.
There is the possibility that Jeff Strains (Diablo, Warcraft 3, Guildwars) Zombie MMO might be a MMOFPS but it won't be fantasy (unless you call zombies fantasy of course). It wont be out for years anyways.
Darkfall really needs a trial. I'm interested but I'm not paying for something I may end up disliking in a couple days. I've learned my lesson with the last few MMOs I've bought blindly.
Edit: I know that was hella off topic but since there was a lot of DF talk going on....
Well, I know about darkfall, and actually, that game is practically perfect. No classes or leveling, it's exactly what I'm looking for, but its p2p. When i say fps, I mean first person and with action. However, the definition of "action varies from player to player, so I asked for a shooter. It doesn't have to be first person, but it has to be realistic fighting (not clicking once and waiting til they die). About the asian thing, "mabinogi heroes" also looks awesome, but I don't speak korean. And I would classify oblivion as an fps, but it isn't online. I guess what I'm looking for is a classic action console rpg like Morrowind, Oblivion, or Arx Fatalis, but online.

Did you just write down a bunch of sub-genres, put them in a hat and draw out a couple? Let's see, I got Sci-fi, Hack n' Slash and Sandbox. But seriously, there's a very low chance that such a game exists. We all have a perfect game inside our head, but that game will never come out.
I'm truly just looking for a swords and sorcery mmo (or rpg with multiplayer) with good character design, and combat that is similar to that of oblivion, or Zelda:OoT, and the like. Those games have the type of exciting, realistic and skillful combat that I want. To tell the truth, if I could afford a subscription, I'd play age of conan hyborian adventures, that's pretty much what I'm looking for. So if anyone knows of a f2p/b2p online rpg similar to any of those, I'd love to hear about it. graphics don't matter much to me, except that I have a pretty old card, as long as they're not cartoony. I have a nVidia Geforce 4 MX series card, but I'm thinking of updating, so newer games that won't run on that are fine too. All of my other specs almost always suffice.

Look into Mortal. Don't buy it on a whim, it has its (large) share of issues, but it's just that. Unfortunately, it costs monthly
There's Pirates Vikings and Knights... but its hardly an MMO... it is however a very interesting medieval fps.. as long as you're not just using the overpowered skills...
Let me change my definition. Im looking for an rpg with good combat and gameplay, something similar to oblivion, zelda:Oot or Demons souls (all of which i own). I also want it to have online play, and Id prefer it to not be entirely linear. I do enjoy the online in Demons souls (which, by the way I cant figure out entirely, how do you summon other players as blue phantoms, and how do you allow yourself to be summoned?) but Id prefer something with the standard 16 or 32 player online matches. The BEST CASE SCENARIO would be something that has first person combat with active parrying or blocking where you have to pick your angle of attack and the enemy would have to block accordingly, and is either an mmo or has (a) good online mode(s). But like I said before, that isnt necessary.

Is there any medieval fantasy MMOFPS?
Oblivion and Mass Effect are RPGs. Even though they use FPS control mechanics, their primary gameplay is that of an RPG.
Same with Darkfall (or at least that's my impression.)
Really I don't think there's a medieval fantasy MMOFPS out there. Nothing remotely close to a Planetside or WWIIO.

Agreed to this.
And OP, look into TCOS, DFO or MO.
I know what the first two are, but what is MO?
Mortal online, p2p mmo, pretty much like darkfall from what I've heard.
Purge, but it's essentially dead.
Check out the MUD I'm making!
I know about purge, but i cant seem to find the download file for it.
I haven't found a good one since Mage Storm, or Spellbinder.
... I miss them both dearly
Nothing excites jaded Grandmasters more than a theoretical novelty
so those dont exist anymore?

This statement is false.

I haven't played it, but I'm pretty sure DDO is FPS and has dodging, blocking, etc. It's F2P.
