I just read over on the STO forums that there will be no bridge for the Constitution class Starship you get with your Gamestop preorder. Anyone else bothered by this?
So you get the ship, but for the first 20 hours of the game you don't get to see the bridge. Everyone who gets a ship in this game will get a bridge, unless you preordered through Gamestop. This is bull.

Yea, that's pretty shitty. Maybe I should cancel my pre-order.

Too early for Cryptic Trek to start Silliness like this.
I was just there and didn't see any thread on the subject. Most of the talk going on right now is about Beta keys. Can you provide a link?

There's a lot of forum activity so it must have gotten bumped down a few pages.
I read thru the thread, but there isn't any dev confirmation on this. It's just a thread started by a poster who claims to have seen this said in another thread. Until a dev or someone with actual proof can show this being the case, I'd take this rumour with a heavy grain of salt.

It doesn't work that way. if it's bad news and it's not denied, you can usually assume it's true.
MMO devs aren't exactly eager to release bad news about their game.

No that isn't how it works. You can't just pull rumours out of your keyster and then expect the DEVS to respond to every one of them. The responsibility of proof is on the poster making the claim. Until then it's just another naysayer making stuff up in order to hurt the game. The thread in question wasn't even on the first page when I tried looking it up so it's entirely likely that the devs haven't even seen it. There is a lot of activity on that site right now with Open Beta starting tommorrow so I'm sure that they are more interested in answering questions on BETA access than some wild rumour that was just made up.

I dont really understand what the big fuss is about anyway. its not like you can fight from your bridge. The bridge is kinda like an apartment where you can invite people in. Its great for a fleet wanting to get everyone together for a meeting but other than that, its only an apartment. They may change that later, but I think at launch, you really can not expect any more than that.
I think the TOS Connie is a Garbage Scow Personally, butI hope they add the TOS Bridge in for the TOS lovers.
I'm sure people are just overreacting because someone made a stray comment under the NDA during beta.
I'm sure there'll be a bridge on your ship, even if it's not an exact replica of the bridge Kirk sat in.

Im sure it will have the same generic bridge the Miranda gets, but I do agree it'd be nice to have a TOS Replica bridge for it.
The only reason it exists in the first place is because gamestop said "Hey we want this thing! PREEEEORRRDERSSS!!!!!!" I'm less than surprised at the lack of a bridge considering I don't think they would want to waste that much time on a pre-order item. The pre-order things have gotten way out of hand with STO anyway, especially since they're locked down so that you have to buy a copy of the game from each store you have a code for.
Bans a perma, but so are sigs in necro posts.

This is so people can't preorder a copy at every store, get the keys, and then cancel them all the day before so they get their money back and only buy one copy but get all the bonuses. Heck, I even did that myself once or twice.
They want to give you a bonus for preordering and buying the game, not preordering and canceling 4 copies and then buying one.

I think all the preordering thing is stupid. Its just a silly preorder item, who cares if someone just gets the item and doesnt buy from every store? As long as they pay for a subscription thats all that should matter.
ALL bridges are a complete and utter wast of time in game. There is nothing there, no function, no working view screen. Just you and your OB's standing around doing nothing.
Down the line, they may get some function to them. Right now it is a place to stare at yourself while your ship sits in sector space not moving. If you want your connie bridge so you can wack off while staring at your BO's butt, go ahead. The normal players will be actually playing the game.
How many people long for that "past, simpler, and better world," I wonder, without ever recognizing the truth that perhaps it was they who were simpler and better, and not the world about them?

I can only bring up the post I made yesterday on this subject. This is what happens when things are added during last minute development changes. Rather than focus resources toward Kilingons or something worth while, they bowed to the gripes and added something in haste. Whether this "rumor" is true or not, do not expect anything within in these "apartments" to be of any use. Outside of a prop or backdrop to your conversation.
