After EQ2, I havent seen really any games that match up with its graphics. None in release or development. Even some of the games that wont come out for a year or more dont compare. I know alot of people do not like EQ2's style of graphics, but most would agree that they are the best. So has any one seen any that are better? Only mmorpgs please.

Check out Dungeons and Dragons, not a game I am following, but I have seen some great screen shots.
I agree that D&D looks good.
IMHO though, DnL beats both EQ2 and D&D hand-down considering the vast environmental part.
D&D is all dungeons, so no great challenge compared to the vast viewable scenes in DnL.
Also, DnL has got a great look to the dragon i flight compared to EQ2.
Check both demos out and you will se that the dragon body shifts in elevation according to wing flaps. The EQ2 dragon flies in a straight line making in not so beleivable.
I think that DnL has better graphics, and if you add the dimension (movement) DnL is more believable.
All IMHO.
Dark and light caught my eye because it looks like FFXI, which was a graphically enchanced game.

I think this is more because EQ2 proved the long standing theory that great graphics don't automatically make a game a huge success. The game mechanics is a huge factor in the overall long term success of the game. Now, don't get me wrong.. I played EQ2 and I liked it when I did play it, however, after playing it for a while I realized that I need to play a game which has some sort of Realm vs Realm/PvP aspect to it if it's going to hold my attention for any long period of time.
After I stopped playing EQ2 I started to think back to what my game consisted of and I realized it was basically logging in and doing one of three things. 1) Talk to every and any NPC to try to get a quest that could be done solo-able, 2) find a group to hunt the same mobs over and over for xp to get a level or two, 3) do a quest which I knew was repeatable to get XP and money.
I'm not posting here to bash EQ2. I'm just saying the game doesn't really have any depth in the sense that you get the feeling you are accomplishing anything. Each quest you do seems like a rinse and repeat method. The game has awesome graphics, but lacks that "good vs. evil" feeling to the game. The only things in the game which give you that sense of battle is the lore in the game that you can read about great battles that once occurred. I'd prefer to be in one of those battles than read about them.
Anyway, I think the next set of games we see come out will focus more on the depth and mechanics of the game than the graphics.
sorry but i have to put it out there, althouth not an mmorpg, it is an rpg for the pc.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
search this game for some screen shots and you'll know why i mensioned it. It has to be the best looking game to come out so far. that of course if the screenshots arnt helped out by photoshop
DnL wins hands down as far I am concerned. With the insane view distance and persistent weather system.
Also certain quests can be generated by the weather. Some of the screen shots I have seen appears similar the terrain from Farcry.
As a side note DnL will allow for people to gain social ranks and own forts, making it a more rewardable PvP experience than WoW, and EQ2 well it doesn't have any.
If you want to find out about the weather system check here, and for other DnL info.

Well I will try stay on topic myself
I think D&D and DnL have good looking graphics.
Of course the full test of a game graphics is on very high or maximum setting and resolution.
But from the screenshots of this 2 games I think they may give EQ2 a run for its money.

What's the latest release date on this anyway?
scientology
What's the difference between DnL graphics and EQ2 graphics besides u can see farther in DnL, whoopie! Lots of open nothing terrain to look at, the screenshots they put out just makes the world look empty.
I really do like DnLs graphics, I just dont really like their armor models.

Well as the title says "The next big graphical game" and so far all say EQ2, DnL and D&D and add in TESIV. Well since the title says "game" and not MMORPG or RPG. Then I will have to say they ALL have already been BLOWN away and all I have to say is Half-Life 2. Now I would love to see Asheron's Call redone with that engine. I think all current and future MMO's would be crying. Or Better yet, Ultima Online using the HL2 Engine. Now that would be awesome.
Oh BTW with DnL, you all can say how good it looks from the screenshots, but for beta testing it I can tell you that Asheron's Call: Throne of Destiny coming out with color going from 16bit to 32bit. I have to say it would be a look alike contest. DnL graphics aren't that good as you all think.
Wow. No one said Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. It has the darkness of EQII's dungeons and the beautiful, breath taking landscapes of FFXI.
Are you kidding me have u seen screens taken from TESIV? They blow HL2 out of the water, Does anyone know if Elder Scrolls is going to be 32 or 64 bit based?

Probably 32; they wouldn't make it 64-bit based alienating the 95% of buyers who don't have it. Although it is still awhile from being released so their might be some bonuses from using a 64 bit in the engine (like a substantial increase in speed, which hasn't really been seen yet with most of the games that don't utilize the technology). And yeah the screens from Oblivion look awesome. I loved every game in the Elder Scrolls series (Morrowind was amazing) and this one looks like it will only improve on the others.

You are all wrong you test tube babies! GUILD WARS is the best graphically since EQ2. Look the screens and such and you will soon agree that the game is far more superior! We will march down the streets corners and parkways we will crush anything in our path we will convert you or you will fall to a more harsher fate.
You will forced to play Tibia forever.
Grragaag! Convert!
