  The game looks like fun to me. I could careless if some people want to argue whether it's an RPG or just an action game. Also the graphics look fine by me, of course they aren't up to EQ2 or anything but then again with a fast paced game like AA you really want a bit more performance over pure eye candy.

  I personally don't play games for looks, I play for fun.  But then again a pong looking game these days would probably be bad.  It's a persistant online world, with multiple players, I'd call that about as mmo as it gets.  Still iffy on the rpg part though.

  Well, you have to understand. they put out a gamplay video based almost entirely on raw engine. these guys haven't even started beta yet, we can only assume the graphics aren't as polished as the rest of the game. I mean, from what i saw, the physics engine is incredible. the cars are very maneouverable, which will add a lot of fun to driving around. Being able to blow things up and have pieces scatter everywhere is a really cool ability thats missing from most every mmo. The focus of that video wasn't graphics. We'll see the really super shiney graphics after beta has started, a few months before release.

  The main point of my original post wasnt graphics, I could really care less. That is something that just helps a little. What I meant was the gameplay looked like crap, it seems like a big twisted metal. I dont want this game to be a mmorpg, I want it to be a mmofps or something like it. Something better then planetside. The game looked like a server game or w/e, one when 20 people play for 10 mins then find another.

  well the prob with calling it a mmofps is that it isnt theres no twitch skills involed at all its all dice rolling. as for calling it a mmorpg its not quite that either thats why its refered to as a mmog. as for game play the only thing that looks like twisted metal is the driving style but theres truly only a few ways to drive and i for one would rather drive at insane speeds blowing shit up then running around with sow on all the time and cave man style combat. as for graphics who cares its a game made to be fun and exciting.  

  also i happen to still enjoy playing pong and dominating my friends at it

  The game has undergone some major changes since that footage was captured. We're working on new videos now, so stay tuned... I'm pretty darned sure you'll find it much different - and way cool!
