And frankly, xbox live does tower over ps2 connect (or whatever it's called) There's just a more advanced online community, adding more fun to games.
If you like to socialize and play online = XBOX (if so, my gamertag is "Serien")
If you like single player games = ps2

What's the point of playing online on a console when you have a 9800xt that you show so proudly in your avatar? Single player games are constantly changing, instead of just playing against different people, which I'm not saying is a bad thing. I'll turn to my left to play through a couple random battles in a console RPG while waiting for the next round in Counter Strike, or my turn in a 1v1 DM in UT2k4.

    see, that's my point

If I want to play online, I just use my PC....

I'm just a really big RPGer, then "stealth games" like Thief and Splinter Cell, then FPS

lol, so needless to say, PS2 and XBox both have these qualities.

Ah, I may just get the PS2. Halo2 is good and all as are some of the other games Xbox has...but Arggg grr...lol, that's why it's so confusing

I have both the PS2, and Gamecube and the XBOX.

I like my XBOX most, but I have to fairly say I dislike Halo 2.

PS2's graphics aren't really bad, IMHO. More amount of games too, but then again, lots of these games are crap.

And I wish I never bought my Gamecube, although it was cheap.

My vote goes to the xbox. Although you won't go wrong with either to be honest.

I have both PS2 and Xbox, and I have to say, I'd choose my PS2 over my Xbox. Why? Because I have ALOT more games for my PS2 and I play it alot more.

PS2 has more of a variety of games and not just "select" games such as what Xbox mostly has. Not only that, but alot of the games for Xbox don't really appeal to me. I'm not saying Xbox is a bad system, crap, I own one, but it's just that I like my PS2 alot better if I had to compare.

PS2. I have had mine for 3 or 4 years now I think. It still runs perfect, and alot of PS2s games can be played online.

A staff member of a mmoRPG site is considering 2 consoles...

Console A: focus on sports and action and graphics.

    Console B: focus on RPGs.

Well, you should be biased toward the PS2!  image  KOTOR2 is nice, but you have a computer as well.

However, you are also an ex-priest, which mean you have huge moral values(in theory), so is Sony or Microsoft the lesser evil?

PS: Dont take me seriously, just trying to put a smile on everyone face, I have both consoles myself and I just hope the PS3 and the Xbox 2 wont come at the same moment

I bought an XBOX just because the games I wanted that are on all 3 consoles (Such as all the sport games, racing games, fighting games) have nicer graphics on the Xbox versus the PS2.

But if you love RPGs, forget it... all RPGs on Xbox suck big time!  Yes even Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2 cause I always waited for the PC version cause the graphics are nicer and has less bugs and no slowdowns.

But the PS2 has way more RPGs, all the SquareEnix games, Namco RPGs, etc... PS2 has'em all.

So it really depends what games you like better.

And for PSP and DS.  even if you have a Pocket PC, it's totally different.  You have a lot better games on PSP and DS.  I only buy Nintendo products such as the Gamecube and DS for Nintendo games.  I don't care about the 3rd party games.  All the Marios, Links, Metroids, Pokemons, etc... they are on Nintendo consoles & handhelds only.

And even then, try playing the SNES Emulators on PocketPC.  With the lack of a controller, playing Final Fantasy on PocketPC is horrible.  I tried playing Final Fantasy Legends on a Gameboy Emulator for my Palm Tungsten E... it was fast, but uncontrollable!  The Arrow keys and positions of the buttons makes it hard to play, I didn't like it.  When I travel or go to school, I'll bring my Nintendo DS along, not my Palm.  Not to mention PocketPC & Palm batteries are horrible the moment you play games!  You'll get at most 4 hours of battery life, compared to a Nintendo DS's 15 hour battery life!

Actually, the only PocketPCs I saw last 4 hours for games was the IPAQ 4700.  I tried the IPAQ 2210, 1940 and 5550... they last 2 hours at most.  They last 4-6 hours if you're using Word, Excel or writing a phone#, but games take way too much Processor power.  It was never made for games in the first place anyways.

Wow i dont think anyone is overrating the PS2
We all know that XBox is more powerfull than the PS2 and no-one is doubting that...
But hey look at the numbers and sales figures... they must speak for something... PS2 may not be the strongest thing on the market... But if games were a weapon GameCube would have a PP7, Xbox would have a lazer, but Playstation would have a BFG....
And we all know what a BFG is

Well actually it has more games because it was out a good two plus years before the xbox. Most of the old games arent played at all coz they spoil your eyesiight with the bad graphics.

Where i'm from xbox's are cheaper.

Also ppl complain about the size of the xbox but it doesnt matter because your not really going to move it around much.

Also you can store music on the xbox which u can play back while playin games.

It has 50000+ blocks already there without having to buy a £20 memory card with only around 40 blocks.

The smaller xbox pad is smaller than the ps2's lengthways and it is better designed to be easily accesible by natural thumbs, not made to be symetrical just to look good but handle craply.

The graphics on the dated xbox are far better than almost any ps2 game out.

It's more expensive to play on xbox live because the service is betterand  there are more games to play online.

Who wants to play a ps1 game when they've got something better.

You only have to press one button to switch it on and off, not have to switch the main power on and then switch the actual console on, i mean, what's the point of laeving it on standby.

A gameccube is more powerful than a ps2.

The only thing better about the ps2 over the xbox is the fact you dont need a dvd playback kit but who needs one of those when most of us already own dvd players and also the free internet play but there are less games and you need a netwaork adapter. PLus it's really cheap on the xbox for online play, £25 a month.

I have both PS2 and Xbox and here are my thoughts....

Xbox - Simply a better system hardware wise. Very good for modding, great graphics, and If you like playing online alot this is the system for you.

PS2 - Great for the amount of games. If you are the kind of person who likes to burn alot of games than this system will be more geared towards you. Although it's online capable this is still only geared towards people who like single player stuff.

Playstation came out in Q4 2000 and Xbox came out in Q4 2001 just one year difference.

    Wellllll lets do some calculation:
Playstation has roughly 1200 games... thats only English titles by the way... And they have been out for 5 years... so thats [b]240[] games a year....

Thats 240 games per year Not including PS1 games

AND XBOX on the other hand has roughly 750 games(thats only english titles also.. But if you can name ONE japaneez title go ahead and add it to the list) .... and they have been out for 4 years... And that makes about 190 games per year....

    Thats 190 games per year...

Sooo in one year Playstation gives their owners 50 more choices than Xbox.... And that isn't counting Imports and PSone games... And Dont give me that crap that all those games are stupid... Cuz we can start counting great games and i'm sure that PS2 will have more than a years worth more than xbox... I told you I dont deny the fact that Xbox is a more powerfull system... But it isn't the about the System it's ALll about the games....

I hate X Box. Terrible game selection... the only 'good' game is Halo/Halo2 and those only have things done by other games (better I might add in the other games). Plus, their storylines suck.
