WOW Cataclysm expansion mostly. Classic Azeroth is getting completely remade, that's pretty freaking cool.

Other than that, maybe SWTOR. We'll see, not buying into hype before I actually play it.

    WoW:CAT and TOR.

None of the other MMOs that are due to be released this year are floating my boat.

Might play Star Trek Online a bit, just 'cos I'm a closet trekkie and it's due soon.

Life Online, like virtual reality but you can die from a 40 foot drop.

Only two mmos that I am looking forward to, SW:TOR and GW2. Neither of those will be out in 2010 though.

Some other games have piqued my interest though, Earthrise, The Secret World, Dust 514 (not an mmo but tied to one).

SW:TOR: because I like the company developing it.

FXIV: Just getting caught by the hype, I think they generally release good games..

Cataclysm: I can't wait to explore Azeroth again, though I think their end-game will lack any real challenge (I dislike the easymode/hardmode concept since I feel like it makes the end-game dungeons grindier than ever).

Both 2008 and 2009 were both kinda flat to me. I worry that this trend continues

For me the answer for MMOs is "none" plainly.

The few single player RPGs left are where the true innovations lie.

Exploration like Morrowind/Oblivion, and dialogue/story driven like Dragon Age. Both Oblivion and Dragon Age have good melee combat to boot.

Otherwise, we'll need more indie involvement and maybe someday open source MMOs to break the glorification of the min-maxer/achievement crowd. (today's destroyer of the genre)

Edit: Since this is games, I'll correct myself and say I look forward to the Dragon Age expansion pack.

Is Stargate even going to happen at this point?  Not that I care much since I'm not a fan of the lore for SG but just seems like that game fizzled out.

    1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.

    2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

    3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

Star Wars: The Old Republic and Global Agenda.

Global Agenda is the first new MMO in a while that could actually float. But people will aways scream about it not being a 'Traditional MMO'.

Pretty much the same for me too. I don't regularly sub to wow anymore, I just stick a month on from time to time to see whats new, and that month really will be worth seeing.

I'm a big star wars fan so will have a look  at TOR in the hope its actually got some depth unlike some other recent IPs.

Would be nice to see some good news regarding Jumpgate:Evo too

Wow cataclysm will improve wow,and bring some of the good old vanilla wow days back. From the others i want to see how Mortal Online will do. If they manage to improve some problems it has ,and add content it can make a difference maybe.Pll are always anxious for something that feels different from wow clones...

    Add Tera Online and Blade&Soul.

As much as I consider TERA and B&S to be promising future MMORPGs, I don't think they belong to the 2010 category.

If I remember correctly, TERA is still looking for a list of key staff positions, like Producer.

The two lengthy teasers were entertaining, but I remember B&S mentioning that they're only halfway into development. Was NCsoft planning to launch B&S as their first MMORPG to support PS3?
