Not really constructive, however I have to say, due to the insane amount of beer in me, EQ2 is THE crappest game EVER created. All those who play it should seek help ASAP.
SOE fooled you into buying it and you have to pretend it appeals to you so not to lose face. It's ok, we all understand.

This reminds me about something. In beta, SOE had mentioned that the effects that their engine could generate were spectacular, including the effects from being drunk... Where did that go? I never once saw drunk effects, even while auto-drinking tequila for hours...

Yeah, the thread does seem pointless, but I need to know what Wickes is talking about now.
I try to be fair when it comes to judging games, even with my opinions. I've posted some threads in the recent past that might be considered anti-EQ, but why he would think I am getting desperate to find bad things about it I do not know. One doesn't have to be desperate to find problems in any game, EQ2 especially.
At any rate, I don't operate like that. If I get desperate, it is to find the good in a game. Why do you think I played EQ2 for two months before realizing it was boring and not fun? It was the same game at release as it was two months later... So why?
I was desperate to find the GOOD in it. Once I see the bad and it overwhelms my desire to play, there is no desperation in me other than to avoid playing it anymore! The only reason I continue to harp on EQ2 is to share my experience with others who might have the same subset of tastes as me. Save them from having to waste their time as well.
So what's wrong with that, Wickes? Other than you don't like the sound of it...

SOE not having put in drunk effects yet can't possibly be on the top 1000 wish list of any gamer I have ever run across. When someone comes to a forum of a game they are not playing to complain about something as silly - yes, SILLY - as that, it sure seems they have some compelling need to just say something negative and are really scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Only you can answer "why", but this effort at justification that you are magnanimously sharing your experiences with people who have the same subset of tastes as you is, well, a bit weak
Who are you shooting for this time ... the subset of people who make drunk effects a priority in gaming? If so, you'd better have a microscopic laser viewfinder 
The OP was drunk when he posted. It reminded me of another broken promise from SOE. It's that simple.
If that 1000th item on the wishlist was the only thing left out of this game that was promised or implied, then of course it would be silly. But it wasn't and still isn't. You sure you aren't desperate to see the good in this game, as I was?
When I think about the time that SOE took to make EQ2 and the rampant reuse of world design elements and art in the game, I have to wonder what the hell they spent four years actually doing... Using the comparison that pisses a lot of people off; I then look at the approximately same time-frame that Blizzard took to make WoW, with the extreme level of detail and variety there, and it makes me wonder even more.

Touche. But it's a full game even without those things.
I think both WoW and EQ2 suck.
Wow has more features, but isnt my type of environment. I didnt like Warcraft 3 and I think WoW looks more like Warcraft 3. If the game had the art of Warcraft 1 or 2 then I would probably like WoW better.
EQ2 looks good, but there is no game. The quests are amatuer, there is no important story, no features to the game. No PvP. No social activities, like SWG for example had cantinas and dancing and fireworks etc. And really EQ2 graphics arent that good. Your character looks nice and all, and the cities look nice, but the terrain and mobs you encounter arent that good. Oh and absolutely boring game.
I kind of regret buying EQ2. I play PLanetside and I used to play SWG, so I figured it would be worth it to pay 20$ a month on the all access pass for all of them. I logged into EQ2 for a week before I got so bored. I will porbably play SWG more then EQ2. And I play Planetside for the majority of my time. Dissapointed big time with EQ2.

You stated you weren't going to say anything more about EQ 2 becuase of the "sympathisers" here for the game, so instead you take to personal and very chilish shots at its players?
Did you actually read that rather senseless, conflicting babble you wrote? A person judging other people by their taste in a game, so if someone uses hunt's catsup instead of heinz ketchup do you feel insecure in them being on the planet as well?

If you dont realize EQ2 sucks, I dont find your opinion valid or you a sensible person.
I understand there will always be people who like EQ2, but I put those people into the click that I dont get along with. Its like in High School there are just some people who you never hung out with or liked very much. I put the people who like EQ2 into that category, because I just cant see their point of view.
And yes I am smarter then you. I know the real answer to this topic, that EQ2 sucks. Anyone who says otherwise is stupid in my eye. It is the law of the universe and it cannot be rebuttaled.
So please just take a deep breath, try to make a conceptual drawing in your mind of what the ultimate mmo world would be, and then compare it to EQ2. If EQ2 is everything you want in a mmo world then im happy you found your game. But your really missing out on tons of stuff.
Heck EQ2 doesnt even fit my idea of bare minimum to even torture myself to play.

Get over it. EQ2 is boring. Doesnt have feature. Doesnt have allure. No conformed atmosphere.
Just a simulation to kill scripted monsters with an item databse for you to slave over. And crafting. And 1000's of cheasy quests that are basically all the same anyways.
