you do know nvidi dont have dx11 ready card yet?your better off just buying a ati card (5670 is lowest dx11 card that is still 40 nm)
about 100$.i dont recommend higher card since we are still gaming in 32 bit.and online game are never limited by graphic card, cpu,or memory in 32 bit!so anything higher is uselless till game industry release 64 bit game!
Since you enjoy burning huge amounts of money for the sake of it, why aren't you also getting an OCZ Z-Drive, create a water/L2 loop cooling and run 2 5970s in crossfire...just to be complete!
VGA card is from my old PC
and OCZ Z-DRIVE i cant simple install because next month im gonna buy 3x nvidia GTX 295 cards
why bother with nvidia?THEY DONT SUPPORT DX11 YET!(THEIR TECHNOLOGY IS A YEAR BEHIND ATIlast time they advertised something it was an emty card with plastic cover screwd on the card(there was no chip on the card because
they simply cant make them yet!if you have a graphic and its working on todays game then just wait till you see one of the two i will suggest:
first:wait till you see a dx11 title you love before buying a graphic card
2 wait till you see a 64 bit game you love before buying a new card
any other situation dont warrent buying a new graphic card since the card you have now will play them all very nicelly
i use an 8800 gt nvidia and that what i do.espacially knowing we ll probably all go back to wow in october
even if blizzard add 64 (wich is very easy for them )its so small your graphic card will still play at max setting even if wow add 64 bit
hell my old dynosaur of a graphic card (8800 gt)will be able to play 64 bit at max setting )
nVidia sucks, go with ATI 5970 + you got too much money to spend, I'm jealous
Buying an i7 975 is a complete waste of money unless you're a pro overclocker. If you absolutely want to spend that kind of money on a cpu you should wait a couple of months till intel release the gulftown which will be called i7 980.
Around march or so OCZ will release their new generation of ssd's. It will use the sandforce controller which will take ssd's to a whole new level. It will be called 'Vertex 2' and 'Vertex 2 Pro'. Wait for them.
I don't know if you are serious about buying those 295's but its much better to wait a few months for when nvidia release the gtx 380. It's mainly worth the wait because it will kick ass in dx11 games. I wouldn't go for any ati dx11. They are fine for current gen games but they suck at tesselation.
if you plan to OC
go with amd x2 550 corillo ,very speedy and its only 114 $canadian
even the high end amd is very inexpensive and works very good
best value !its got to be the x2 255 ,very fast and at 75 $ its the cheappest but it cant be oc easy.
x2 550 3100mhz can be oced to 4 g without added toy and was oced to 4.4 mhz with toys
nVidia is on the eve of destroying the performance on all its current consumer video cards. The GF100 uses a stream processor similar to the ATI HD series. When developers start adopting that stream processor, its going to be an immediate and huge jump for the performance of ATI cards.
The only reason to buy an $1000 i7 975 is if you want people to know how much money you waste. For $1000 I will call you everyday and let you know how much money you are wasting.
This actually sounds fake though. Once you add in the 3 GTX295's You're looking at almost $4500 for a DX10 PC that won't be able to play anything that might actually make use of $4500 of gear.
If you want to spend $4500 at least make it a good system.. i7 920, 2x5970, and 6 $400 monitors.
Most games actually run worse once you get 6 GPU's involved like 3 GTX295's will be btw.
unless you got unlimited internet access stream is useless!onlive is trying to push it but as long as internet is on the per gigabyte basis nobody can afford cloud gaming!
the only affordable solution is microsoft donnybrook.basicly you play like a solo game on your computer but you control a bot
from the gaming server ,so instead of taking gigabyte of data per hour like onlive (cable industry is pushing by the way)
you get the same very high end graphic quality of solo play on you computer at home but since your controling a bot
it doesnt take more ressource then chatting on irc, basicly its like having 2 chat open.
today you and game provider probably take 100 mb /hour
but with microsoft donnybrook you and the game provider would probably take 10mb/hour
yes its that great a technology for gamer but ever more so for game provider
game provider would cut their internet cost by at least 70%
so if their cost is say 1 million a month it would cost them only 300 000 $
wich is abig plus for mmo supplyer like blizzard ,sony, etc
but yes guys you are right its a bit of work to include donnybrook
hell thats why they got employe dont they ,TO WORK!
i sure would like to see this lol!since ati is one year ahead of nvidia !i used to like nvidia but their policy got in the way !
and ati pulled ahead and ibm is ready to ship them (if it hasnr already been done)the 32 nm process witch will speed up computer and graphic card in tandem!
will probably be ready by the end of the year.if not sooner.
nvidia is being delayed not by their will to do better but they just haven found a way to manufacture the futur
and they just cant release a card when there is only 1 chip good on the whole waffer!it just cant be done!
so untill their engeineer find a way they got to wait, and perfect other area (software)wich is probably the reason why we ve been receioving very good patch every month.hell i dont complain they are repairing bug that should have been fixed a long time ago
so my card never worked better.i do hope their engineer take a while to find the waffer solution because
it means our old card program are being polished by their programer
one good thing that might come out of this is the fact nvidia might pull ahead from ati in the software departement
and will have a lot less issue when their new card lunch since they are polishing these even tho they can mass produce those card they produce enough to remove the kink out of them!
1. The 975 is overkill and a waste of cash. Get an i7 920 and OC it to 4ghz. OR wait a month and get the 930. If you're hell bent on spending $1000 on a CPU then wait for Gulftown which will give you 6 cores.
2. You might want to look at the new Sata 6Gb/s USB 3.0. Bit more future proof.
3. Remember that SSD's in Raid 0 aren't supported by TRIM. So it may result in performance degradation over time. I don't know all the specifics because I don't have the money to raid SSD's.
4. Get a better graphics card! Whether you want to wait for Fermi(AKA GF 100/104 or GTX 360/380), wait for the ATI refresh, or get the current ATI 5850/5870. If you like to game then any of those cards will offer the performance/quality you want.
Uhh, I doubt OP is even slightly serious, but meh.
