So there I was, looking through Square-Enix sites and I decided to take a gander at their support center for any questions regarding the beta that may have been updated, and I found this little tidbit.  Source...

 

Is the Beta Test software obtained via download only?

 The distribution method of the client has not been decided.

So do tell me, all those who seem to believe the beta has started from these very whimsical, "I got into FFXIV beta"  posting that are more than likely the same person{s} on different sites/accounts just messing with us.  If beta has started and they have the client with of course still no proof at all {they have broken the NDA so why not show proof...}, why hasn't Square-Enix decided on how they plan to distribute the client then?  rofl

 

Yeah yeah, more than likely it'll be a download only client like most MMOs have adapted to; since SE did state in the app that you must be able to DL large chunks of data.  Do keep in mind though; there have been beta tests in the past that gave us the option of shipping the client on a DVD to us too.

 

Anyway, discuss...this should be a fun topic...hehe!

    Im not saying I believe people saying they got in beta, but a game in beta and pre-beta will frequently have out of date info up on their website.  Maybe square enix is better than that and maybe they arent, but its still not hard evidence of no beta.

    Was expecting that to be the first response, but since there is no date of when that was posted, guess we'll never know...hehe 

    Square-Enix though in my experiences aren't like other devs though and they tend to keep things updated and as accurate as possible, without letting it go for weeks or months on end leaving us in the dark.  For instance the FFXI news, updates and announcements; especially when it comes to world recovery and down times, errors, etc.  They always seem have very accurate info posted and keep it updated to let us know whats going on.

     

    Based on that, even though I'd love beta to have started so FFXIV gets here sooner, I still don't believe its has started, and SE will let us know when it has.  Their official websites for each region and the beta application are done very professionally and you don't always see that with most MMOs.

    SE is wrong, some random moron posted "omgz im totally in teh betaz yo lolol, and than another one posted the same thing on some other forums, that totally confirms its true.  Than someone else said that he cant say if hes in beta because of the NDA, i mean, read between the lines man, why would he say that, its on the interwebs, it must be true.

    One thing for certain is that they need to start beta soon if they want to meet their 2010 release date. They mentioned they wanted a longer beta test than FFXI and that was 6 month long. Even if its 6 months and one day they need to get the ball rolling if they haven't started allready yet.

    There seems to be that "if you can't prove that it doesn't exist, it exists" logic around those beta threads, which makes little sense to me.

    Like swalker said: If beta has started sweet it will be released sooner rather than later, if not they need to get the ball rolling, because I am not a fan of the later option.  So khrymson, do you want the game sooner or later, or are you just so stubborn that your dead set on your ideas that beta starts after ffxiii is released, and its impossible that you cant be wrong because you know all? Or you just cant stand the fact that people who have never played an FF game got into beta, while the faitfull FF fans have not?

    I also have to give props to svann, that was the first intelligent post that I have seen from him.

    Still trying to figure out where you keep basing this constant BS reminder that I may have said this.  I said I'm under the impression from info that beta won't start until after FFXIII launch, not that it will!  You've been constantly putting word in my mouth I never said was factual....the thread where you're getting this from was all speculation like everyone who responded was giving their guesstimate.

     

    Also where is this complaint that I'm upset that someone else got into beta and I didn't coming from...lots of made up BS too.  {Ever stopped to consider that even through all this that beta really has started and I did get invited too, but I'm following the rules of the NDA and being respectful to SE.}  No reason I can't question this topic as I have been with or without an invite...haha

(in most cases anyways)....the thread where you're getting this from was all speculation like everyone who responded was giving their guesstimate.  It was your "guesstimate" and you have said it on multiple threads. Thus your opinion, and its already released in Japan so your technically not wrong! Beta started after FFXIII release.
