First off wow I can't believe this is going to be free to play. The graphics are beautiful par with World of Warcraft I think even a bit better. The combat is very smooth so far just at the 4-6 levels i think they made it a bit to hard to kill things but i'm sure they will fix that up. I have only reached level 8 so far so I really can't say to much about the PvP but I've heard that it is quite balanced. People say the quests are just kill X and get X but based on there opinion I don't think they were the people who played past level 5 the quests change there are many different kinds of quest such as messaging, crafting, and boss fights which im happy to see they actually made this game a challenge. Finally a free to play game were I can type in zone chat and say were can I find this for this quest and they won't reply "Go F yourself" "Your a moron" "<Insert spam here x20>". For all you guys out there saying your not missing anything trust me your missing out on one of the best MMORPG's of this time.

I agree with you for the most part. The one issue I have with your post is the comment about the PvP. NA wise at least no one has had access to max level yet. The game is also fairly new. There isn't enough theorycrafting to really say that the PvP is balanced or not. At the very least I can say very comfortably that the PvP is NOT balanced around level 30 (lol the cap is 40)... as there was a great deal of QQ about this.

You gotta be kidding. Allods isn't even a good MMO to start with. Wait till you get to LVL40 and see. There's no endgame to speak of. Class balance is nonexistent (yes, even at LVL40). PvP is dominated by those who donated more RL cash. Everything the developers are concerned with is how to squeeze more cash from players.

So it's a typical f2p crap with slightly better than average (by f2p standards) graphics.

It's nowhere near EVE, LotRO, WAR or WoW. Personally, I hate Aion. But even Aion is much better.

MMORPG genre is dead. Long live MMOCS (Massively Multiplayer Online Cash Shop).

i agree this is probably one of the funnest mmos ive ever played, i got to lvl 11 in cb3 and personally i love theg ame the art is incredibly beutiful and rich i dunno if ive ever stopped in an mmo to just look at the scenery as i have in here after lvl 10 you unlock upgrades to your skills u use rubies for wich reminds me a little bit of ff10's sphere grid in a way, also for anyone who says there is no end game content, theres craploads, astral ship creation customization as well as astral battles, fighting astral demons in astral space goblin ball wich is a brutal version of soccer except u kick around a goblin, the amount of quests in just the beginner area was very large, for anyone who thinks the combat is slow it gets alot faster as you get stronger, also if u mess up on your stats ull die quite alot the challenge compared to many many other mmos is incredibly high here so if u think u can trot around 1 hitting everything with a high powered weapon at or around ur lvl ur sadly in for a treat ull die.. alot i also like the no minimap and auto attack feature it allows me to actually enjoy what im seeing and i dont just pay attention to a minimap to tell me where to go as well as it makes exploring fun, the no auto attack feature is nice cause im actually being engaged in the combat and not just letting my character sit there wailing on an enemy for a while while i do something else also thatll probably leviate botters and not including macros will probably leviate any gold sellers as well, but whoever hasnt tried this game yet sign up for cb4 ull love it im sure this is a rare gem in the mmo market its worth the time to play thanks for readin my comment also

This is very nice game with good setting, variety of classes and rich character customization.

Sadly, my crystall ball tells me this will become prime example of how cash shop breaks good games (nothing against cash shop if done well like in Atlantica but this is gPotato and PVE game).

Like said before, gear is unbelieably important. At start you have crappy gear and it shows, you kill very very slowly. When you get well stacked gear you can two shot stuff. What good is all the customization and class finesse when cash shop will make you kill mobs in two blows with no skill. Or worse - instant ranged AOE one hit kill with no CD, anyone? What about DOT classes or classes with combo debuffs on  long CDs, what about defensive skills, the game is designed around longish combat.

As it is PVE game and stats scale up way too well, publisher has all tools to make your expereince miserable if you do not buy gear. The signs of that can be seen in holy grounds where mobs parry and block too much as you simply cannot have good enough gear as CBT lacks cash shop.

I've tried Eve, Lotro, and wow and I have enjoyed allods more. (although Lotro might beat it out if it didn't have a subscription, wouldn't play eve or wow even if they were F2P). I haven't noticed a class imbalance up to level 13 and have tried most of the classes save the scout and the mage.

Since the item shop hasn't been available on the US side it's hard to say they are trying to milk players out of their money first, and put gameplay second, since no items can be bought yet anyway.

Open Beta will be the real determining factor anyway since that's when characters will no longer get wiped and will carry on until release when that happens we'll see what gpotato does for the balance and end game.

It's a very good MMO lol and it has one of the better endgames I've heard of so far. War and WoW's endgames did not appeal to me in the least, EvE I want to like but just can't get into it, LoRTO never appealed to me. Allods I find a great deal more enjoyable than all mentioned games with the exception of Aion.

Not many MMO's out there that look at least somewhat good, are fun and have a fun and or unique endgame. Allods not only looks good, it's actually fun to play and the whole Astral Ship endgame concept is very interesting and unique if nothing else. Haven't played with the Astral Ships yet, but that alone is going to set it apart from the other mentioned MMO's.

Considering you didnt like war or wow endgames, im assuming, since this games endgame appeals to you, that allods does not offer any type of pvp tracking or ranking system, no instanced mini games, no end game seiges or raids.....

you mention this astral ships as uber fun, i still dont know what it is,andyour kind of making the point that there is no endgame.

There Astral ships are part of the endgame which you have stated you have no idea what they are which means you haven't even done the basic amount of research on the game which explains why you assume there is no endgame.

You also make pretty broad assumptions on why I do not like War or WoW. War was just a poorly done game when I played it and WoW was far to easy for my tastes. My 12 year old daughter even found WoW to easy. But the key thing that turned me off of both WoW and War was the fact that they were both extremely boring.

I feel differently about Allods. It's well done and fun.

Information is out there, so in the future assume less and read more and the next discussion you decide to participate in might not be so one sided.

Stating you know nothing about Astral ships negated any opinion you could have on endgame :) considering that is a large part of endgame lol.

What I'm really hearing is,  this game is the best game ever because its free.

Graham said it best when he said "I've tried Eve, Lotro, and wow and I have enjoyed allods more. (although Lotro might beat it out if it didn't have a subscription"   which is a good indicator that the game is good, for a F2P game and for those that don't want to purchase an entire game and pay a monthly sub.  I'm glad theres a home now for people like that.  Is it better then those other games?  No... Allods is very similar to them... no innovation, and other then an enhanced art style, its the same gameplay we've seen before at the price that attracts a particular crowd.

Good game? Sure.  Better then the rest?  No.  Seems better then it is because its "free"?  Most definitely.  One things for sure... I wouldn't pay for it.

Thanks for that link.  Very nice bit of info.  I was going to skip CBT4 and wait for OB, but after reading that.  Definitely going to push as far as I can in levels so I can try out being part of an Astral Ship crew.  Random Islands, lootable treasure holds, Ship to Ship PvP and PvE.... can't wait.

No prob :) Mind blowing that this is meant to be a free to play imho lol. One of the first truly innovative MMO's to come our way recently and it's fairly polished to boot as well as having that feel that they actually put time and effort into the game.

I think the greatest thing about Allods to me is that it's one of the few MMO's out there that really feels like a labor of love instead of a "We made it so give me your cash now!!!!!! Hurry and get our $240 life time membership otherwise it gets bumped up to $299 and you lose the borg Muah haa haa haa" feel lol.

Yep I think thats what has me hooked on Allods, it really feels like a labor of love instead of yet another cash grab MMO.

I dunno, with a name like "wowfan" I just have to wonder if there is any bias or prejudice in your opinion.  But I will simply ask, have you played Allods Online, which beta and up to what level?  Have you played Aion or EvE or WAR or LotRO?  I don't have to ask whether you have played or play WoW, it's kinda obvious, lol.

I am playing Allods right now, as well as EvE and WAR and I will say that Allods is a great game so far.  What you have said is complete nonsense, but that is just my opinion based on my MMO experience.

I am actually going to write feedback to gPotato regarding this, as I feel Allods would be successful enough with a p2p model.

I wouldn't pay for this game but thats just me. Its a very very good game and well made with decent graphics. Could topple Runes of Magic as the most popular f2p game.

Well, the graphics are very WoWish. I think that is a good thing. The art work was completed by some very skilled and talented individuals.

However, PvP is not balanced. A one level difference defines the outcome of an encounter. Also this game is set for an Open PvP faction based. Currently in CB's flags are on all the time. This means that roving bands of punks are running around PK'ing lower levels or ganging up single players.

PvE encounters thus far are very simple and lack any type of challenges. Leveling past 30 is a joke. Literally CB players are expected to grind to 40. There are not any quest. Seems like at this will be impossible due to 100k exp to obtain a level (31-32)and aquiring 40-70 xp per kill.

Levels 1 - 20 are completely fun and enjoyable. There are minor problems that can be fixed. Level 21 and above, not so much. Broken quest, roving gangs, unreal agro range and broken talents. The lack of feedback and the inability of the devlopers to address bugs and players concerns leaves players frustrasted.

Astral ships? At this time I do not forsee any any ship board action. At least not in this CB, indications were for an Open Beta next. I presume that will change as CB1 players are moving on to other things.

To all excessively dumb n00bs in the thread:

I played Russian open beta and I know some people who still do. So I DO know what I'm talking about. And next time please be so kind to read forum before you post.

MMORPG genre is dead. Long live MMOCS (Massively Multiplayer Online Cash Shop).
