yeah I was on holiday when Silius dropped the shelving of HOSS, AAs, Pankhor Zii, Stiirhaad bomb

when I read the announcement I just never logged back in, just canceled my account, never said my goodbyes to my guildies

most of us who grinded ( I myself almost finished T3 Pantheon with 6k faction to go ) felt really cheated and we realized the game is going nowhere all of our hard work was a blatant slap in the face after being lied on to by the devs for soo many times this was the last straw for me and some other vets in game

damn all of those hours on end mining echo's really pisses me off to no end not realizing all that mining was going nowhere I'm sure alot of players felt the same way and guilds even Xanadu has left the game Black Sun and other guilds from other servers is gone too

I'm really surprised you stuck it out past me man. Now you saw how hard it was to keep going when it was only your guildies that was worth the login. Think of how it was for me being in the hotseat when I had to do it. I just did it before I grinded my life away hehe.

well it is a lesson learned I suppose not just for me but from other players leaving Vanguard as well, a game with a very good potential is not merely enough to keep it alive, it has to have the support from its parent company to be able to succeed and be a long term gaming investment

with that said I'm looking forward to Heroes of Telara and I hope this game gets the full long term support of its parent company so it can succeed in the long term and not just be a fluke like Vanguard which had alot of potential but no support from SOE

I think its pretty clear what the state of the game is...its done for top end raiding. PERIOD, end of story.  Lvls 1-50 are fantastic.  Any new player should take their time and really enjoy it.  I hope that you are able to find people in your level range, because by now, most seem to be 50+

How did it get this way? So many theories, so many ideas.  IDK, its probably a combination of everything: the crappy code from the start, the poor financial decisions made by Sigil, the lack of support from SOE, and the culmination of the incompetence of Salim Grant.

Personally, I'm upset at the lies and half truths which the Salim fed the player base over the past year in order us to keep subscribing to his failure.  He has already failed in his "Road to Nowhere" post that the first major patch of 2010 was filled with bugs.  There will be no monthly content, and there will be limited bug squashing. I'm sorry but the devs cannot support this game with the current staff.  That is the truth.

The players are leaving in droves.  On Seradon alone, I know of 3 guilds which have folded in the last 30 days, and they are all top end raiding guilds.  There have been some merging.  The dedicated player base is leaving quickly. Server merges are inevitable.  It saddens me greatly since I have been with VG for 3+ years, but all good things must come to end, I'm afraid.

To Athryn, my old mining buddy, I think your friends in CE miss ya. I asked what happened to you, and they said you dropped off the face of the planet.  I hope you're enjoying whatever your playing!

Do your self a favor and make as many friends in boot camp as you can.  You may run into them in Anchorage.

There are still VG hopefuls in the game but that's just what they are. I mean looking at that Wishlist thread simply leads me to believe that even the players themselves have given up. I mean asking for a ninja class?

Nah. I'm all for the new monkey race in a new starting underwater city.  That, my friend, is exactly what VG needs.

    Priceless.
