I'm really happy about this announcment, I saw it early today. I still have a patched single player version on my HD. But my totally pimped out summoner is sadly gone forever.
I wonder what Hellgate Tokyo is going to be like. It sounds fun.
Really are you people sick or what? STOP BEATING THE DEAD HORSE. It is dead because it sucked totally in the first place. Please don't bring back crap. It died because it sucked so bad it was unbelieveable. One of the worst games anyone has ever wasted time and money on. Serious. PLEASE STOP BEATING THE DAMN DEAD HORSE, IT'S JUST WRONG!!!

mm probably adding a lot since korean never stopped playing this game ,was probably patched a lo5t and all those patch need to be translated
Hellgate London was the game I get bored faster than anything else. I hope this one to be much better as my expectations for the original version was huge.
Where themepark games try to hide that they are copying WOW, games like Mortal Online and Darkfall make no attempt to hide their inspiration

It was dead because FSS did not know how to manage the business side of HG:L. Sure HG:L gameplay had some issue but what game doesn't ?
A couple of friends and I had this game, and it was so shallow and repetitive it could have been prescribed for insomnia. The same old streets, the same old mobs, the same old weapons that you saw right from the starting mission, the infinite ammo and the fact that zerging would win you every mission just killed this dead. Heck, the DESIGNERS couldn't explain how attributes like Luck worked!! We effectively binned the game because it was so buggy and simplistic, though my boxed game might be lurking at the back of a cupboard somewhere.
If it was free to play, and if I could use my original game, I might give it a try out of curiosity. I might be pleasantly surprised if the game actually had some backbone added to it, but that sad little Failboat would need something akin to "Raise The Titanic" to make it float again.
Awesome news, I miss hellgate. Shame its gonna be forever til it is rereleased.

I also miss the Multi-player version of Hellgate.
One of the few games I know of that actually had a perma death option for your multi-player avatars, and distinguish you from non perma death (hardcore) avatars.
Stonehenge and the simulated open world areas were fun, but limited. The one "end game" boss you could summon after you collected the heads of the other bosses was really cool. Sadly he was the only one though.
This game had all the Mechanics of an awesome game, just lacking content.

Don't forget the Dessicator in the Wilds. I miss doing Hardcore mode runs on those. Howerver I heard that the Hanbitsoft version doesn't have any hardcore modes though... but Hey I'm just glad it's coming back in any form.

Hi, I've got good news for us Hellgate fans! Hellgate is coming back. I saw it in their fan page in Facebook. I think T3fun (Hanbit owned) will be the one who will publish the game. This means that the game will be on a global server because their other gamers are also offered like this.
No date yet for the CBT/OBT though..

Regardless, do you really think a company would spend the money to buy it if they didn't plan to improve it in the first place? Most people like to claim that it went under only because some guy mismanaged his company, not because it was bad. Since that is what the majority says, I'll go along with it. Not to mention the fact that they will most likely make improvements on the original design, so a new and improved version of an already decent game is probably going to turn out to be pretty great.
I'm glad they're bringing it back, I never had the chance to even try it. Seeing as you didn't back up your argument with any specifics, I can assume you never tried it either.
HGL was a good game gameplay wise I like it, although I forgot what changes they made to it that made it suck.
The Characters could have been better designed to look better though, and I hope that if HGL returns it comes back to be a good game because it could have been a great game.
I agree. The game could offer so much if only it was given more time before its first release. I am hoping they made all the necessary changes needed for the game this time. I am definitely getting a CBT key. I want to try it out and see for myself.
The graphics don't look dated too much though. This could have a chance..

I was really supprised to find that this game is coming back!!! I felt really burned bad when FFS canceled this game as i had purchased the CE version of Hellgate: London. Oh well you live and learn I guess. I just finished downloading the Hellgate app. and it took about 3 days to complete and I have cable!! Cant wait to play again!!
