I think they will implement the "duel" before you can attack someone.

    lmao.

You know, I don't think a /duel option for friendlies would be a bad thing to implement.  Just make it so that if people are dueling, they can't be insta-ganked.  It's always a pain in the ass when you're fighting with clanmates and someone gets insta-ganked... the re-equip time and whatnot is just an annoyance.

So, it wouldn't be anything that would prevent pvp (if the person doesn't accept a duel you can still kill them), but, if people are just trying to spar each other for practice they would have a duel option so they wouldn't have to worry about insta-deaths.

I was joking, but that would be great. Some kind of "sparring" mode between clanmates.

so if i don't want to get ganked i can just enter a dual with a clan mate and run around freely. then, naturally, when we sneak up on a red/orange we can drop our dual, pk, then get back into our dual to walk away safely... not really sure that'll work well in dfo mate

Thanks for the link! It looks like DF has some cool things on the horizon.

No, it would be just between two players. You can only defeat them, but they wont die : ) Just for sparring. It have nothing to do with anyone else in the game (they can kill you as usual)

1- Then a third person comes in and gives the last blow to the already injured player post-duel, and there you go, LOOT.

2- And if it is implemented with not being able to interfere externally with dueling players in any harmful way (or beneficial), you now have a new way to 100% safely trade and bank in cities, and possibly a safe area in the wilderness (though bound to the area the duel "flag" would be placed).

The only feasible way to implement it IMO is #1 though it will be limited to "secure" environments.

I'm guessing a few issues such as Water Logging

The ability for clans with multiple hamlet or cities to kick players easily to another holding (saving all travel time)

Possibly changes regarding ganking and player/monster bodies sliding when killed.

And a few more things. These are all speculations but I wouldn't be suprised to see some of these, especially the second one I mentionned.

NO duel. What they need is a system where you cant insta kill your group mate or your clan mates. Thats it thats all. /Sing off
