it seems like a server stress issue. I do not think this will be a problem at launch as I am sure that both people who actually buy and subscribe to the game will not have any impact. So to answer your question, I think it will fix itself.
funny thing is that i went to log back in and the servers are down lol. And thanks for replies idk but i really like this game and hope it succeed because mmos lately have been failing horribly and i need something to tide me over till earthrise and SWTOR.
Well...in actually Cryptic doesn't really have to "fix" the problem by launch since a lot of the open beta players haven't actually pre-ordered the game. They would need to definitely expand their bandwidth and improve server stability to their launch to be successful, but right now if I was sitting in the board room with my cryptic minion of computer engineers I wouldn't exactly have the justification to propose to expand the servers to the point where every single player in open beta can sign on at the same time and play without lag. The population of open beta is definitely going to be different than that of launch, but we will have to wait and see if cryptic can walk the fine balance between profitability and customer satisfaction.
As for logging in...heck...I've only managed to put in 4.5 hours before they started to have the server load issues! I'll hold off from actually getting this game until more reviews come out of the actual launch. 4.5 hours is just not enough to evaluate the depth and breath of a MMO.
Fix the server stability, maybe. Fix the awful gameplay ? no. More than one game launched with horrible server issues, Anarchy Online would be one of em. It is never a sure thing.
To specify I keep randomly getting disconnected from the server and i was wondering if they will fix that by launch?
Well, on the 20th they released a patch with the major focus being connectivity issues being resolved. I guess I would have to say yes they will have fixed your issue weeks before launch.

If not then they better create a system that bookmarks your progress through episodes. Nothing quite butters your biscuits like getting 90% through an hour long episode, d/c'ing, and logging in on the galactic map, having to start all over.
First thing you need to know is that we arent on the most upto date version of the game. We are always 3-5 patches behind the devs. They need to make sure the patch dont break something else (like the did with cannons). In the patch notes they even said that they new about the problem and the next patch would fix it. So dont worry that disc problem has probably been fixed they just have to make sure it doesnt interfere with anything else
That's why they have open Beta. To stress test. They added a patch the other day that seems to have not only helped stablize the game play but fined tuned the game icons and UI. I think they will be ready at launch and will have a hit on their hands. I enjoy everything I have seen so far.
Ground combat no better than the 1990's game x-com
no crafting system
The skill cap insanity
to damn many loading screens
it is more of a single player game with an MMO cafe added so you could talk to people
it seems like they want to milk every buck out of you in every possible way ie. 3 slots at live--come on what are we going back in time?
Ingame respecs that are going to be a grind fest to get or you can always pay Real Life cash for it--of course
Atari has something to do with it--that alone should scare you off
the whole game boils down to whacking the keyboard about 200 thousand times an hour. I mean if you like games where you get carpel tunnel of the fingers then this game is tailor made for you.
yeah i know its a beta but beta ends in a few days and then it goes live--what excuse are the emo fanboys goin to use then?

Sorry Recker, but this is laughable if you even remotely believe this. If we are 3 to 5 patches then why are people who are playing Klingons upset about lack of content and constant broken content. Who have little or nothing to do at all because they can't advance their character.
The last patch messed up more things with people trying to play Klingons than anything else. They didn't even test this last patch it was more or less forced in as you can see with the ship group combat.

This is one of the reasons they call it beta.
They are stressing the servers to test how much they can take, and it's not polished to the max yet.
So the problem will be fixed by launch right? because i really like this game, but i dont want to keep being kicked out randomly.
