I've signed up for a trial long ago, and it's probably been used up, but it was because the download would've taken roughly four days...

Could anyone offer different links for the client download?

Go to their main site and check out the options, they just released a new way to DL the client/trial.

Link to news release on torrent file: www.fallenearth.com/node/364

Also, if you can't do the trial now because of a previous signup, maybe use a different email address.

    Don't play this game.

I recently played through a trial, with high hopes, only to be let down.

First of all, even with the graphics cranked all the way up, this game looks unfinished and very poorly done.

Gameplay is clunky, the controls and interface are awkward at best, and keymapping doesn't allow enough freedom of customization to allow you to make up for the poor design. I can see what they were trying to do, they just went about it all wrong.

The thing I had the biggest problem with is that they allow the GM's to play the game. On it's own that's not a horrible thing, except that those GM's are allowed to act like...well, GM's while they are playing. I'm sorry but in my opinion there is a serious ethical isue with allowing a GM to use his GM authority while he/she is supposed to be just another paying customer. I witnessed an example of the problem during my trial play, at one point a GM "Carlin" threatened to shut down the entire chat because he wasn't happy with the fact that there was soo much chatter in the help chat...really?

The game's one saving grace is the crafting system (stolen from EVE, and not improved apon at all, in fact it's not as well done.) but it isn't enough to save this beta quality game.

I had very high hopes for this game, I loved the IP, and was into the backstory, but they failed to deliver a first tier product, I've played several of the free-to-play games that are better done than Fallen Earth.

    Don't play this game.

I say try it, what you have to lose ?  Free 10 days to be able to see for your selfs?

I recently played through a trial, with high hopes, only to be let down.

    Sorry  /crys

First of all, even with the graphics cranked all the way up, this game looks unfinished and very poorly done.

I have to Disagree, because somehow the game has is seting the Gamma too far Bright is reason world looks crappy.

Most people dont know that befor you log into the game after you put in your pass word, you can change Monitor Gamma ?

lower left side befor you log in, has Options to change the settings on the Gamma..

Space bar set from 1.0 to 2.5   befor i knew this the game looked too Bright for me and washed out!

Gameplay is clunky, the controls and interface are awkward at best, and keymapping doesn't allow enough freedom of customization to allow you to make up for the poor design. I can see what they were trying to do, they just went about it all wrong.

The game has been out like 4 months ?  I have faith in the people that made this game, if anyone has issues with Bugs and what not, take it to there  Forums and send and email to there support Team..   Coming here to talk down a game, when was the last time you made an MMORPG ?    If people hate how games are being made, tell the company and send emails!  All im saying what we to do about a game people dislike ?

SOOO What game is not Broke ?

The thing I had the biggest problem with is that they allow the GM's to play the game. On it's own that's not a horrible thing, except that those GM's are allowed to act like...well, GM's while they are playing. I'm sorry but in my opinion there is a serious ethical isue with allowing a GM to use his GM authority while he/she is supposed to be just another paying customer. Ok so the channel is for Help ???  Do you like it to become the Barrens chat ? Or  Aions Spam Gold sellers chat room ?

When was the last time you was able to get help from a GM in any game on the spot ?  He was doing his job!

The game's one saving grace is the crafting system (stolen from EVE, and not improved apon at all, in fact it's not as well done.) but it isn't enough to save this beta quality game.

I bet most people dont know that WOW has took alot from other games!   LOL stolen from EVE..  The Fallen Earth team log into the files of Eve and Took out there crafting ?    How Dare them!  Call The internet Police!

I had very high hopes for this game, I loved the IP, and was into the backstory, but they failed to deliver a first tier product, I've played several of the free-to-play games that are better done than Fallen Earth.

Too bad, what are you playing now ?

    Kind Regards,

I wish you well..  Keep looking for that special game. :)

    Ah the  "high hopes" syndrome,
First of all, even with the graphics cranked all the way up, this game looks unfinished and very poorly done.
graphics cranked up on what system?

Screenies from my own  just abit dated system, they really look that bad? Now imagine how it will look on a high end system by today's standard. Be carefull tho when looking at my screenies as they are made with a slightly dated system but with a system that I build for gaming, where I expect some people trying to play games systems  not really build for gaming.
Gameplay is clunky, the controls and interface are awkward at best, and keymapping doesn't allow enough freedom of customization to allow you to make up for the poor design. I can see what they were trying to do, they just went about it all wrong.
Wonder if you actualy have used keymapping, perhaps you might have ignored the many key's that are actually used by the game already so they might be hard to relocate or don't even have a option to keymap them differently.
The thing I had the biggest problem with is that they allow the GM's to play the game. On it's own that's not a horrible thing, except that those GM's are allowed to act like...well, GM's while they are playing. /help channel is for ...you geussed it....HELP, the chatter you speak of was most of hte time about none-help chat.
I could only wish for more MMORPG's to have such active and involved GM's. You really need to understand the game to be able to be a GM in Fallen Earth.
The game's one saving grace is the crafting system (stolen from EVE, and not improved apon at all, in fact it's not as well done.) but it isn't enough to save this beta quality game.
I like it doesn't make me right nor wrong, but you saing beta quality does make you sound very wrong, sorry to say, that you didn't like it I am okay with that as it's not everyone taste, but the beta comment plain wrong here.
I had very high hopes for this game, I loved the IP, and was into the backstory, but they failed to deliver a first tier product, I've played several of the free-to-play games that are better done than Fallen Earth.
If you played better games why not enjoy them, seriously what's up with these type of people who already have found more fun games yet feel this urge to try out something else, hope you learned your lesson to stick with a game you enjoy. Next time hopefully you can be somewhat more honost about what you want to share with a gaming community. Oh and better watch it that you don't get that "high hopes "syndrome again with other games you might want to try out in the future, it simply doe'sn't work and will most likely again gets you disappointed.
Simply put the game isn't for everyone, it has some issue's tho I keep reading more about them then experiancing them myself, thankfully, but if people want to get a opinion I really like to see them be honost about it, and sorry these type of reactions simply are NOT honost, but hey it's the way of thinkingof the new generation of people trying to play games in this genre, kinda getting used to it.......

I wouldn't expect much out of Fallen Earth, unless you like staring at brown dirt for hours, bland boring combat. Hell. I couldn't even get out of the newbie zone in a trial (I was in beta and it was fine, dunno what happened when they released it) due to some massive lag that I only have on the game server.. their customer support was also horrid and kept copy and pasting the same paragraph when I tried to tell them the problem. I'd suggest you honestly stay away from Fallen Earth, Biggest waste of money out there mmowise, its up there with Eve Online in this aspect. I'd give ddo online a try, its free and a far better game than fallen earth is.

I tried the trial for FE and couldn't even get out of the tutorial map, DC every 2-5 min. Massive lag and their customer service was totally garbage. Yes I got the ports are open, Yes it is network lag, No I didn't have any downloads etc going at the time, No its not graphics/videolag (I been playing mmorpgs for 10+ years trust me I know the diff between video and network lag) E-mail their support team has done nothing since they just don't seem to care, even in beta I reported the lag issue me and several others were having and nothing to this day has been done. Not that i'd buy FE personally, Way better f2p mmorpgs out there, both in graphics and most importantly gameplay. I was maybe considering it if the customer support would have even tried to help me with my issue, tbh the lack of decent customer support is what put the nail in the coffin back in beta/Open beta right before release.

This is not meant really as a troll post its just my opinion, Everyone has their own tastes. I'm not a Fan of WoW, Aion or Eve either myself.

Why keep coming back ?  Even a fly leaves and look for another turd when its gone ?  Why keep coming back to this TURD of a Game ?

Well that's your opinion, so here is mine.

Fallen Earth is worth the trying the trial as it's a very fun game with lots of potential to become even better over time.  I have no issues with any lag in world issues, and acceptable frame rates in city areas (45fps+) on low/middle specs computer.

The customer support is quick, helpful, and knowledgeable. They respond in real time in game, and can even be reached 24 hours a day through /tells, for help purposes.

I would suggest you try Fallen Earth through a free 10 day trial, as it is one of the better game play style MMo's out their right now, and is up their with one of the all time best mmo's to date Eve Online.

if you DC every few minutes IT IS YOUR SYSTEM.

Have you used the Defrag option in game launcher, did you do a Fliecheck in launcher options.

Sorry I have a somewhat dated system but very well balanced, never CTD since 3 patches ago, never experiance lag. And am playing since release, oh sorry I did have a total of 4 CTD over the whole time I played since release tho this happend before the last 3 patches..... Sorry...I had more CTD's in these so called A-title MMORPG then I have in a indie MMORPG.

But then again we have people who even in a game like WOW still seem to lag, so who to believe....hehe

And support didn't help you? strange I used support 2 times, one time ingame was helped within not even a minute, one time I had a suggestion which I send a mail and got a reply back in 15 minutes...must be the way you speak or ask things, seeing how you act on a forum might be something that has to do with how people will react towards you.

My own opinion about Fallen Earth, the best MMORPG since years that suites the playstyle I want in a MMORPG, oh and I dislike bugs or any other kind of issue with MMORPG so if I would experiance those many issue's some people claim they have I would never be playing Fallen Earth. Pure based on my own experiance which can be different then other people's opinion.

Just would like to see GAMERS to be be honost.......

Thank you!  Im so glad there are people like you that give your honest "Best" of what you know about a game.

Im just sick of these people coming to bring down a game!  if its that Horrible of a game ??

Then what is the best game ?

    The One you play?

Fallen Earth is not a game for everyone, and you will never know if it is you favourite game ever- unless you try. Try to download via the torrent file posted above or with the updater. The latter may take some time, but start the update at a time when most of the ppl in the US are sleeping, and your download will be fine and quick.

Just trying to help Three, as said have you tried the suggestion I gave you? like defrag or filecheck?

What also can help if you play many games to do a full defrag of your system, I know I often am in allot of beta's and allot of crap might be placed on our systems due to it.

And as said it's the best game for me, which does never mean it's the best game for everyone because I can only speak for myself. As said plenty of times the game is'nt for everyone, but when I read what people complain about I really have my doubts about their honosty, sorry.

Anyway hope you do find the game that suite's you best, I found mine, but respectfully disagree with how some might complain about it. Adn will comment on that. Bet you would do the same if you play a game that doesn't give you all these issue's you see others speak about.....

side-note, you think the sceenies I placed in this topic are looking horrible? just wondering.....

    Yes, really.

Help chat is for HELP, not for "chat." We have regional and local chat channels for that. Help channel is for people to get HELP. And it's impossible to weed through all the chatter, if you're a GM, to sort out the people that are actually asking for HELP when there are conversations going on regarding anything from WoW to American Idol to the economy.....

    Seriously...you have issues with THAT?!

I can understand your other issues with the game (although I have NONE of them....) but to complain about a GM moderating a help channel???  Apart from the fact,  if he is saying he's going to mute chat....then he's ALREADY asked SEVERAL times for people to only use the help channel FOR help....and he's been ignored....

Far from it. The gameplay is rock solid actually.
I do recall a single player (i.e. one single person in over a week...) complaining in help earlier this week about the "clunky" gameplay though. I suspect that was you!

The GMs are not "playing the game" like you seem to think. They are there to monitor player conduct and behaviour, as well as to assist players with any issues they can.
They do not play those characters ingame, at all, with the exception of showing up to assist another player with a problem, and even then it is rare that they don't remain invisible.
Kind of a shame that they have to spend time babysitting players like yourself, eh?
The game's one saving grace is the crafting system (stolen from EVE, and not improved apon at all, in fact it's not as well done.) but it isn't enough to save this beta quality game.
This is barely worthy of a response at all. FEs crafting system is NOTHING like EvEs system.

OP the offiicial site has trial running but you may need to use a different email addy to try the trial if you've already done a trial.

You almost have to try a game that gets so much attention from the haters.  Apparently they feel Fallen Earth is a threat to their game in some manner so they have to come here en masse to put it down.

Am I the only one that notices those that dislike the game always fail to answer when asked what game they think has better(insert whatever complaint be it AI, graphics, game play, CS here)?

-I have been playing for nearly 3 months and I have yet to run into these massive, game breaking bugs some have complained about.  The only issue I have had was the crafting window not recognizing I had attained an appropriate level to craft new items...log out to character screen and back in game and it was fixed.  This has happened twice.  That is the extent of my bug experiences through 4 characters ranged levels 3-30.

-I have yet to see AI that is any better or worse than any other game.

-I have yet to see a game where the CS is matched, bar none.  The GM's in Fallen Earth are the best player, game maker interaction I have been involved in in my 13 years of MMO's.

-The game play, while possibly not ground breaking, is different(read as clunky by many because it is so different IMO)and a breath of fresh air in an MMO market saturated with click to auto attack, grab a sandwich and go to the bathroom, type combat.(see my sig)

I have two machines I play Fallen Earth on.  One is my gaming rig which can run the game at maxed settings.  The other is a below spec machine that can run the game on medium settings without issue except when first loading into larger towns.  There is a marked difference between the two.  I suspect many that have complaints about issues with the game/graphics are running at, near, or below minimum specs.  I keep my machines tweaked pretty good, but this game will definitely give a bloated rig, that has been neglected or not optimized trouble and again I think that is why many are having trouble.   Again I'll reiterate, I am running this game on a system substantially below minimum specs at medium settings.  All these claims of uber rigs not able to run the game are bollocks.  It's at the users end and not an issue with the game.

For the record, my below specs system:

AMD athlon +3500 single core on a Gigabyte MB

    1 gig Corsair RAM

    EVGA nvidia 7800GTX

Nothing is OC'd and again I can run this game on medium settings without issue.  The only exception being when I first walk into major towns I get a delay while the textures are loading from my HD.  If you have a rig better than this and you cannot get the game to run smoothly, it is your rig, not the game.

I witnessed an example of the problem during my trial play, at one point a GM "Carlin" threatened to shut down the entire chat because he wasn't happy with the fact that there was soo much chatter in the help chat...really?

I gave one mans opinion based on his expeirences playing the trial, I stand by everything I said, if you, or anyone else, have had a different expeirence with this game than by all means post it.

The gamma issue is something I took care of after about 30 seconds of being logged in, changing it did little to improve its looks, add to that the clunky game play (and no, being out 4 mothns does not excuse this, fliud character movement and control systems are not something you add in post release, please). boring combat animation and GM's telling people not to ask for help in the help chanel and you have a game that I found to be unplayable.

It's funny that you make the asumption that I am a WoW fan, I stopped playing wow about two weeks before the first expansion was released and have never looked back.

At any rate enjoy playing Fallen Earth, it's clear you are a fan. I will, as you say, keep looking for that special game. (one that's released in some semblance of a polished state.)

And to those of you posting screenshots, as if they somehow back your claim to the lush beauty of the graphics in this game...they don't.  the graphics have a thin, unfinished feel to them, which is sad because as I stated the concept and IP of the game lend themselves to creating a truly awesome looking world, but that's just not the case.

    As we clearly already did...
The gamma issue is something I took care of after about 30 seconds of being logged in, changing it did little to improve its looks,
You did this when you logged in the game? this actualy can only be done in the launcher menu/options only. Gamma is only for the brightness of the game, not really the overall look of it.
add to that the clunky game play (and no, being out 4 mothns does not excuse this, fliud character movement and control systems are not something you add in post release, please).
I bet if FE was a full instanced, small area type of game the animation would be allot more fluid, myself am not really hindert by the movement animation as I know and understand the size of the game. So the only excuse I will use is that there arn't many game this size.
    boring combat animation
Finaly a real opinion as you have every right to feel that way, I don't feel that way but that doesn't make either of us wrong or right....
and GM's telling people not to ask for help in the help chanel and you have a game that I found to be unplayable.
Sorry if the game IS unplayeble most people who enjoy it would just like you not play a unplayeble game, something I still feel not many people into games understand this. and GM's asking people not to ask for help, sorry never going to happen, unless it was something like someone wanted to group or so as that is sort of a help qeustion but should be asked in /region.
It's funny that you make the asumption that I am a WoW fan, I stopped playing wow about two weeks before the first expansion was released and have never looked back.
Myself never make these WOW fan or any type of fanboy comments, but I can see why some might, no worries you a grown man I hope ...hehe

I really hope you find that game, as like always I rather see people find a game to enjoy then be busy with games or forums on games they don't like.

I will claim they look good, not sure what you feel is looking unfinished tho. Obvious your opinion, but would like to see you explain it somewhat on what you consider to have a unfinished look about them

in most common A-Tittle MMORPG's when you have branches or leaves/twiggs so close they get very distorted in screenshots. But please explain what YOU feel looks unfinished, and keep in mind this isn't even on a high end system.

This game has been a real surprise hit with me. I never followed the development of the game as I normally do for upcoming mmos. I never tried the beta. Never paid attention to the release, or the changes that came during the months following it. It was completely off my radar.

After seeing a post talking about the 10 day free trial I decided I was bored enough to give it a try. I dont know what I was expecting but I didn't anticipate finding anything to really grab my attention beyond the trial.

I was very wrong. I was really impressed with what I found. The atmosphere and writing were fantastic, the game ran smoothly on my rig (save some brief 2 second slowdown when first approaching big cities), and there was plenty of content to explore. The crafting and resource collection system in particular was a lot of fun (in addition to being genuinely useful) and has quickly become my favorite aspect of the game. Haven't yet tried out pvp but character build seems important so due to my extensive crafting on my main I'll likely create an alt to explore that.

All around great game, wish I had checked it out sooner. Can only see it getting better. Just goes to show, you never can tell until you give it a try. It was so ironic that all the games that I followed closely throughout development and thought had the most promise, didn't hold a candle to one I didn't follow at all. Lesson learned.

Decided to sub last night and the rest is history. Just want to thank the posters who helped me realize this game was out there.

Waiting for: A skill-based MMO with Freedom and Consequence.
    Woe to thee, the pierce-ed.

Well, you are entitled to your opinion about the game of course. To each their own.

I just dont like your remark about the GM's, because its a plain lie. How difficult is it to understand that the HELP channel is for asking questions about the game and not meant for some random chat? You can use the Region channel, local or your clan channel for that. Those GM's(names in yellow font) you saw are moderating the HELP channel and never shut down questions about the game.

They are also not using their private characters (if they play FE) for the GM job. All the GM's ingame use 45+ characters so you can easily find them using the social window. A private toon cant reach a lvl higher then 45 ><</p>

Totally invalidated your opinion there with just one line.

Actually, FE sounds pretty good so far and your experience doesn't seem to fit with that of most other posters.

As to what's a better game, that's purely a matter of opinion and it sounds like most of your issues can be traced back to some sort of incompatibility with your rig.
