There is lag as there are different nodes, you must not be in the same one I was in.
That is weird. I kind of thought the test was to find out what would happen to the whole server as the different server nodes crashed. Maybe they are testing more than 1 at a time.

Thats what they want to do, but if its not happening, not many people are probably in the stress test right now.
It's over ... great ... my client has been updating since yesterday, did not even get to install it
You don't install it. Its just a folder that sits on your desktop and you run the exe file in there (yea pretty pathetic)
So World of Warcraft hasn't been installed in a while, but it was pretty easy to get running. Asked a friend to get the files from his machine and copy the folder between computers. It's been really handy between formats/reinstalls.
I remember transferring Vanguard from my friend's computer to mine to not have to wait for the download. Just had to run the launcher from the folder.
Warhammer was a collector's edition I bought. My friend wanted to give it a try so I copied my folder over to his computer and he just ran the launcher from inside the folder. No updates needed.
EVE Online was something we got into last december, and since WIndows 7 came out it's been pretty easy to move the install folder around.
So tell me...
What exactly do the installers do on an MMO?
by all accounts i've seen so far... they extract the files/folders to a directory, then make shortcuts... should you want them. From what I can see, appdata and settings might be installed in your Documents/Settings folder if you run the launcher... but that isn't always the case.
So what does that make MO... A game where you extract the files/folder to a directory and run the launcher?
Ah... yeah... Shortcuts are something you'll need to do yourself.
Anyone get in today? I played and it was pretty laggy. There were about 10 people in the town I was in.
Does not sound good when 10 people lag a stress test!
10 people are not laggin the stress test, 10 people may have lagged his computer, it may not be able to handle more then 10 people. I stood around town with about 30 people yesterday and there was some lag, but it wasn't horrible.

Yes, lagged my computer when I was getting 100fps (love fraps) You know they have different nodes for different areas of the game right? Look below and you might understand what lag actually means.
LAG != FRAMERATE
LAG = SERVER LATENCY / SERVER ISSUES
The lag I was seeing when when I pushed "X" and it took 30 seconds for my fists to come out
