If you are new to the game and don't know anyone playing this you should learn and practice armorsmithing to create yourself new armor when you get pvp'd and looted. The best way to level up armorsmithing is making shields, and lots of them. Shields require wood, and chopping wood increases your stats STR, VIT, and WIS.
Get your skill up to 25 at least so you can make yourself a set of banded armor. Banded armor will protect you quite nicely against goblins, skeletons, and kobalds.
my tip: after you log in darkfall go to keyboard option and disable the key's A and D
Thats just crazy, theres a lot of viable situations a sidestep/jump or two can be a massive help, especially in early pve, you dont have to sprint everywhere all the time once your run speed is up to scratch.
My biggest tip would be watch all of Valroth's Accelerated Character Development Guide parts on youtube, theres nowhere you will find a better intro to the first few weeks of Darkfall life while you start your character.

If this is that important to you then shouldn't you just play Mahirim and get huntspeed? Its 80% of sprint speed at 100 skill and works for strafing as it is running not sprinting.

Turn on your fps monitor, either in game or I use x-fire's. When ever you see your fps drop suddenly, 9/10 times that means someone is near.
See you in the dream..
The Fires from heaven, now as cold as ice. A rapid ascension tolls a heavy price.
Ummmm....no.
Kinda makes double-step broken, no??
My tip on this page would be to use rank 0 weapons on mobs when grinding skills...makes the mobs last longer so you get in more swings.
Also...never turn your back on anything, or anyone when in combat. Getting hit in the back will kill you REALLY fast.
Uhhh my tip:
DONT DIE!
Ummmm....no.

Meh, some people prefer it. Can be a real bitch to hit those people with arrows or beam spells.
In a game where any kind of cover can be used to protect yourself from spells/arrows? This is one of the worst tips I've ever heard.

I think he's one of those guys who just sprints around in figure 8's.

Double Tap Dodging is enormously more useful than Double Jump.
You do realize that the Double Tap Dodge (DoubleStep) gives you a 50-80% damage reduction if you time it right while you are in melee....don't you?
Where as Double Jump allows you to....jump higher lol.
No contest.
