 There are a ton of gameplay videos on youtube now. Anyone else seen them?

    Well, I for one thought the menu-based combat of FFXI was fine, and stuck to the tradition of the FF franchise. I see more hotbar reliance in this new version, and unless it does something completely different with it, I have a feeling I will come in and say "I have played this before somewhere" and enjoy it less. Sure some people will like it over the menus, but we are talking about Final Fantasy here, and it was the only thing keeping the last version's combat from being a stale clone, imo.

    At least the gear-to-class setup reminiscent of FF tactics is interesting, I'd like to see how customizable it can actually make a character.

     that is footage from gamecon or something, not beta and all the other clips on youtube are from there as well

    Aye, those aren't beta videos that are up. In any case, FFXI was by far my favorite MMO and the footage in those videos is very similar to it. So, I am very happy with what I saw (maybe I'm a bit biased) ;).

    I think this game is going to be top notch. Im not sure if its going to be as fast paced as we are use to from recent MMO's but the detail of the scenery and character detail's was one of my favorite things. And this stands true as well with this game as proven with the video.

    They're all the same ones from Gamescom last fall.  That is the only time actual gameplay has been shown thus far...so none of them are new!
