So, I am nearly sold on pre-ordering this game however I am nearing my monthly video game budget and am thus looking for some final validation before pressing this 'purchase' button.  The feedback I have been reading is mixed, so if possible I would like to hear some suggestions/warnings.

I am coming from Darkfall and Eve and have a passion for sandbox MMOs however I am not sure I want to partake in a bug-laden release.  So my question is, based off your experiences in beta do you feel Mortal Online is in for a rocky start?  I am not interested in starting another fanboy vs. hater flame post, rather just looking for an unbiased opinion.

Thanks

    Save your money.. for now.

Unless you are cool with exploring a new world with not a whole lot of good PvE yet implemented. There is fun to be had in the beta now, even with all the bugs and missing content. But you gotta have an imagination and willingness to look past the bugs and missing content and see the big picture of what kinda game SV is trying to create here.

Right now, you can explore, do some PvP, harvest resources (mine, wood, leather) and craft plenty of stuff like tons of different kinda of bows, weapons and armor. if you like to craft and think you'll like a new pure sandbox game, then maybe you'd have fun here.

Watch some of my videos uploaded under my same name on youtube if you like, there are many other videos that can help you get a better idea of what playing Mortal Online is like now.

But you'd be safe to wait a couple months I think, play Darkfall some more, or something else meanwhile.

That's my 2 cents. The ultimate decision is yours, and I think you're level of enjoyment with MO now really comes down to your willingness to overlook bugs and your imagination. There just isn't much created content in the world yet.

I would say u should wait till open beta which should start soon, unless u wanna support SW.(I did and haven't regret)

If u want some real feedback, u should go to MO official forum or somewhere else. This forum is just full of trolls who haven't even played the game and most likely u won't get any real info here.

Preorder today if you want to support this kind of game that Mortal Online is. There are very few MMO's that are sandboxes today. Almost all are WoW copies. Then you have an option to either start playing today if you can accept bugs and that not all mobs are in yet or wait some weeks before start playing more serious. MO is very promising and MO have improved lots just the last weeks. I recommend start writing posts on the MO forum instead of here. There are to many haters here on this site.

Another option is to wait for the stress test (when Star Vault aim is to crash the servers) or the open beta (if there will be one). We see.

Dont pre-order man. Use a wait and see approach because the game is currently in pretty bad shape for release.

I wouldn't recommend MO to anyone in its current state.   Wait for a trial!!!

Its not like MO is "almost there" , it has a long way to go.    DnL was more complete

    I win!!! LOL@U

I have to agree with the majority of opinions, wait and see after release. The game should be in a good position in half a year or so. If you have the money to support SV and don't mind pre-ordering early I say go for it, SV is in need of the money.

I stongly urge you to try before buying.  They are starting Open Stress testing in a few hours.. go give it a look with your own eyes.  I could tell you a thousands reasons why you should steer clear of the game, but as they say a picture is worth a thousand words....

What does your quoting his other post mean?  Maybe he simply read your posts (yes multiples) on the MO Forums where you talk about the poor shape of the game?

As said previously though... people can finally stop worrying about what you or I or someone else thinks of the game and can start logging in TODAY to see for themselves.

    Go for it OP!

That's a harsh claim considering DnL was nothing more than a scam on a good day.

If you are comming from both DFO and EVE you are in for a treat. It semi a mix of the two. I recently purchased MO and havn't regretted buying it. I have learned a lot about the game that isn't on any of these forums, basically what everyone is saying here should be your main goal, on the 22nd there will be another stress test. I recommend getting prepared for that and seeing for yourself.

Don't buy it. I'll tell you what I said in another thread just recently. Every time I close the game for the night or after 30 or so minutes, I always ask myself "Why do I even bother?" This game is so full of crap it's not even funny. It's got a terrible future ahead of it and I really don't think it will ever get better unless they reworked every system in the game. It's just gross. A few months ago I tried dozens of times to get in contact with the developers to ask for my money back. I mean if I wait a year for a product that was supposed to already be out that I payed for, I'm definitely gonna want my money back. Anyway, I'm trying to save you the trouble. Don't buy it.

Don't bother... the game is BRUTAL in it's current state.  Played for an hour... I crash constantly, it locks up my entire pc..   I spend more time waiting for my pc to unlock and the game to load up, then I did during my hour of playtime.

Crafting is confusing as heck... no instructions and what instructions there are it's brutal.  What I make of crafting.  You keep spamming the gatherning hotkey over and over while a 2 second timer counts down.

You gather material... what do you do what that material... no friggen clue... you need to buy agents to refine it I think... again didn't play long enough...

    Game is awfull.

Man seriously read the fking posts about MO..

The game Mortal Online is a alpha stage game its no even a Beta..so save your money and maybe in a year or 2 when or if the game is ready to be played you can put money on the game..

For now Darkfall is 1000 times better then MO, because MO is an ALPHA STATE GAME, i spent my money from the beginning i am block A tester, i have one of the 999 collectors edition copy ordered, waiting for it since September 2009, if this game will ever be playable and enjoyable i will play it...for now its in development, and needs 1 year minimum to be called a beta game working on polishing stuff...

You will be putting your money to WAY better use by keeping your sub to DF going. I not going to call this game a fail but it needs LOTS of work.
