Terminator Mmorpg...

The year is 2028...  Skynet has destroyed the larger part of human civilization, only pockets of resistance remain. Are you a T-800 bent on destroying mankind, or a vigilant defender, trying to save the world...

Anyways, a Terminator Mmo would probably end up similar to other ip games.

Skynet would end up Pvmvp (Although since terminators resemble humans, a certain amount of customization for ones avatar would be available).

Time travel could be represented through instances.

I could see this maturing in a FPS style.

Potential for a kickass sound track. (Watch T2)

Ok, that's all I got...

Make it so...

Quick! Someone get a hold of Cryptic and make sure they get the rights for this!

    1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.

    2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

    3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

Could have some input from the T.V. show and have machines fighting each other, that makes a 3rd faction.

I could see it working or if not terminator, some other human vs machine vs machine

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it is bad.

As a Terminator fan I think this would be a great mmo, if put into the right hands. There can be an overall nemisis Skynet, and mankinds fighting for survival, with rogue factions of cyborgs roaming around. The time travel idea of being an instance is really cool, it fits for a sandbox mmo. This concept has probably been talked about, but lets wait until the newest movies gets a little old, and the TV show ends then just maybe we will see it.

From a personal standpoint and going by my past experiences, I'd prefer a game with 3 or more opposing sides, preferably an odd number.  The whole 2 sides, good versus evil, light versus dark crap has been beaten to death already.

On the other hand, I've never really been a fan of the whole Terminator franchise so that may be another reason why I have no interest in this idea what so ever.

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

Dunno, do like the idea, but they can't even get singleplayer Terminator games right. so have my doubts if even a MMORPG can be made of it. I mean with current tech. you would think a Terminator game may it be a singleplayer game would rock......But as said I like the idea but have my doubts....

Thinking about it, maybe the reason they fail is the need for player interaction, lol.

Naw i think its more in terms of those games being released as movie games, which well suck. If someone actually makes a game from ground up and puts the setting on their own hand picked are with their own story to tell in it, that would be alot better.
