Deadly Fireworks: Building Icecrown Citadel's Gunship BattleThe frozen earth of Icecrown roils with throngs of the undead Scourge, reanimated bodies so numerous that there are few physical locations where the Horde and the Alliance can build their camps and strongholds. Instead, the defenders of Azeroth take to the sky.
Two gunships, the Skybreaker of the Alliance and Orgrim's Hammer, named for the former Warchief of the Horde, patrol the skies of Icecrown. Early in the campaign against the Lich King, these grand vessels were used to scout overland terrain, where they frequently came into open conflict with each other, brightening the skies with their cannon fire.
Now, in the wake of the Argent Tournament, the enemies of the Scourge have finally gathered to lay siege to Icecrown Citadel. With the fortress nearly impenetrable on land and the spires of the citadel touching the sky at their peaks, it's become clear to the leaders of both the Horde and the Alliance that an aerial assault, spearheaded by these two gunships, is the only way to infiltrate Arthas's stronghold.
Two prominent warriors have stepped forward to lead the attack: Muradin Bronzebeard of the Alliance and High Overlord Saurfang of the Horde. Both seek to defeat the Lich King and spare the living from another plague -- but there are other, more personal stakes for these heroes. Saurfang seeks to uncover the fate of his son, whose body was lost at the battle of the Wrath Gate, while Muradin, bearing the weight of Arthas's atrocities, seeks justice, closure, and possibly even redemption for his former student.
And yet, even with their noble goals, there will be no shared glory for the Alliance and the Horde in this attack. The dock atop Icecrown Citadel is only big enough for one ship. Halfway up the spires, the Skybreaker and Orgrim's Hammer are fated to clash again in a storm of gunfire, swinging blades, and bellowing warriors. Foremost in this mayhem are the combat crews, veteran heroes who've already begun the assault on Icecrown and who will fight to the last for a chance at Arthas -- heroes like you.
In this article, the World of Warcraft development team discusses the inception and construction of one of Icecrown Citadel's most frantic and epic raid encounters. Take your eyes off the sky -- just for a moment -- and read on.
Well Seems to me WoW is copying Ship to Ship PvP from Allods....Seems weird for a P2P to copy a good F2P lol World of Copycraft to me. First it stole many ideas from the other old and best mmo's out there. What Do you think...Allods will rise or WoW will just grab more peoples attention.

Hmm have to see how blizzards implements that if it's real, heard many bad stories on how their servers can't handle a large amount of players near each other or it would crash so they will probably do it somewhat instanced.
Please read what you posted again, because what that just described was the PvE raid encounter in WoW. So no PvP copy catting going on here.
This is a really bad Allods fanboy attempt to troll WoW, because in the end you only achieved advertising WoW in the Allods forum.
I have no love or hate for either game, just pointing out the facts.
You obviously have no clue what you're talking about with regard to the gunship battle in WoW. It is nothing more than one scripted raid encounter, in one instance, and is nothing at all like Allods system... this is not even close to a full-on feature in WoW.

... and to be honest I don't know why any fan of Allods would try trolling about WoW. I mean Allods is obviously a f2p WoW clone, but noone faults it for that, and in fact people applaud Allods for doing what it does very well, and being different enough from WoW to stand on it's own despite it's many similarities to WoW. So I don't know what someone supporting Allods would have to gain by doing this really... it makes no logical sense unless the person is in complete denial about Allods being like WoW. I like both games for what they are, and I have no problem at all with Allods...

one thing is sure !blizzard just cant go back to vanilla wow way since if they did they would have major lag issue
dx11 will help (forget tesselation lol)the lag issue.64 bit would also ,and ms donnybrook.but those are all feature that can be put on their futur title i doubt blizzard would put the work required to correct these so it will left like it is now just new content new water effect.stuff you can get elsewhere basicly
allod is a nice looking game and is very good im in the closed beta aside from loosing all char on last closed beta(to be expected lol since only regular gaming is garanteed to keep your toon.i got to say im surprised by allods team they really are working hard to polish this game to the level they feel confortable with
we had a 350 some mb patch this week.corrected lot of stuff ,so it looks promissing
graphic are lush a la wow.only low is probably the greenry tends to be low quality .but for the rest its very nice
i love the the mecanized race so screwd up (it made me think of ciborg in star trek
this game will be big in the f2p market .and i believe it is a AAA title.
I love how every fanboy claims EVERY game released is a WoW clone.
Sorry, but I can't stand WoW, and I will be the first to say Allods is a blatant rip-off. Many of the skins, sound effects, animations, etc., aren't even modified...they look exactly thing like things that exist in WoW.
That said, I don't really care. I enjoyed Runes of Magic for a bit even though it had the same problem, and I'd've played 4Story longer if the battle system weren't so meh. WoW established a visual style, and people copied it. That's what happens when something succeeds.
As for Allods, so far I'm not impressed. Unless certain things will be fixed when they game goes live (like how many battle effects are clearly missing, and the clunkiness of fighting in general), this will probably be a miss. I do like the step away from the grind though, which I didn't expect from a GPotato game. I've yet to have a problem finding quests, and they're pretty story-driven too. I'm rooting for Allods, not for what it currently is, but for what it might be.
"Forums aren't for intelligent discussion; they're for blow-hards with unwavering opinions."
Way to many lies and fakes and WoW fans here even when they say they are not.
The game has like 0 sound effects that even so like they are from WoW.. The game does not feel or even look like WoW. Oh wait they have a cartoon look to it I guess they copied cartoons OMFG WORLD OF WARCRAFT copied cartoons we better take this to court..
Anyways you people argue useless and pointless points. Both sides are wrong the game is nothing like Wow for example I have played dozens well I'm sure 50+ MMORPG's over my lifetime on this planet of the damned and I will tell you one thing.
WORLD OF WARCRAFT IS NOT THE FIRST MMORPG ON THE PLANET.
WAY WAY WAY WAY MORE games out there before even WoW was even known that had 70%+ the features WoW had. All WoW did was do there homework and mashed many features people enjoyed in many online games..
Not only that but Allods does this too. Yeah it has some features WoW has and games before WoW and games that have none of these features.
Why not make a real better arguement and go blame the 1000 WWII games out there that they copied from something LOL

I'm sorry, you must be on the wrong forum. Alganon is higher on the Games list, your comment is more relevant there than here. You may have realized this had you played either WoW or Allods.
Allods is not aWoW rip-off, however, it is similar in design and obviously inspired by WoW fantasy style. WoW, by the way, was very inspired by Everquest, with many key components blatantly copied from it.
Classes in Allods are generally generic for fantasy style, but they have some interesting tweaks. I played both summoner and mage, which have a distinct play style from the WoW counterparts. I hear the same for all the classes, they are not a direct copy of WoW classes (Which were actually a copy of Everquest). Art style is similar but distinct, same goes for every other feature in the game except the questing.
