ArenaNet has just unveiled screen shots of their newest area "Ascalon" which players will get to checkout in the February 18, 2005 Beta Weekend Event. The Ascalon in today's shots is the kingdom before The Searing, the cataclysm that marked the end of The Guild Wars and left Ascalon in ruins.
We have added these 7 new screens to our gallery:

Nice shots, cant wait to see the next Beta Event.
It looks like a totally different world in my opinion, much different than what we have seen so far in Guild Wars. Looks simply amazing.
Yes. Very psyched to see the new area and what's there. Can't believe the realism and just plain beauty, especially in contrast to the devastation we're used to.
lol it just isn't right look at the graphics this has to cost monthly
Absolutely stunning, very impressive job there Arena.

As the say in TV-shop:
-"are you impressed? I'm impressed!"
My abstinense is growing nowto play guildwars, I really like the new "environment", but is this near Ascalon City?
Impressed at the big "ruins"!
Great job ArenaNet!

food be good... want some? Well, you can no have!!!!
death is only the beggining
Rather than posting the obvious once more and praising the graphics, I have a question I hope someone can answer:
This is old Ascalon right? Before 'The Searing', as they put it. So, this is from the PAST then? Which makes me wonder if this is from the past, are the Devs just letting us play this in the next beta (Which will be my first and i'm SO psyched about) or will this be laft in for the final product? Just because even though it looks amazing, if it's from the past it and it's been ravaged by the Charr, then how come it's standing beautiful in the present? I may just be lost here... any ideas?
