Guild Wars 2 vs TOR?
Which will win?
Guild Wars 2 most likely will destroy TOR. Why????
Well because they both use a NPC companion system, but ANET is more experinced at using this system.
Also TOR is made by Bioware. Come on now,,,, what good will they do for a MMORPG? Single player, maybe, but MMO? HECK NO!!!
Only thing Bioware has to their advantage, is the fact they are using a Popular IP. BUT WHO CARES?? Just look at Warhammer,,,,DnD,,,,,,AoC,,,,,,STO,,,,,, and tons of other Crap fest MMOs using strong IP.
And most important of ALL THE THINGS THAT MAKE GW2 A SW:TOR KILL IS,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Who will pay for a Crappy MMO by Bioware, when you can play the best MMO ever for Free.
ANET is known for their great story line in GW1. That along with the Persistant world will blow all MMOs away, even WoW.

Comparing Star Wars to all of those crappy titles is absurd. Star Trek is bout the only thing thats even close to Star Wars as far as a franchise. Bioware will make more money in its sleep. Probably already have made more money and the game isn't even out yet.
But, I'm with you man I'm bored to tears too.
I'm pretty sure Bioware is better at companion systems considering they've been in every game they've made pretty much.
You could have said WoW would be bad because Blizzard had never made an MMO before. I think it turned out just fine, what about you?
Guild Wars was horrible in my opinion, I just couldn't get into it. I don't know much about Guild Wars 2, but I will at least try it.
Both games don't have enough info out right out right say GW2 is better than TOR. You should make another thread when they're both out.
Guild Wars 2, regardless of how good a game it is will still be a small population fringe MMO. Any Guild Wars game isn't even in the same league as a Star Wars MMO. The quality of either game has nothing to do with it.

I'm sorry, but that's all GW is. Each city is like a lobby, and you then enter an instanced version of the explorable areas with your party.
Both will be great games with different focus. SW: ToR will have much more subscribers though.

I have nothing to really add to this travesty of a thread other than, yeah sw:tor will have more subscribers since it will be a subbed game. GW2 will be just like the first game, free to play after the intial game is bought so no subscribers to the game.
This thread will do nothing for gw2, good or bad.
Tro please stop posting threads like these, in two days you would be saying guild wars is going to suck too as you did with dragon age and demon's souls. This thread will bring no good and is really a waste of time, but just to add to this i believe SW would do better simply because bioware is behind it.
Ah yes, so the 6 million+ sales of Guild Wars 1 and the fact that it is still teeming with players suggests Guild Wars 2 will have a small population.
Nothing about Guild Wars 2 suggests it will be a niche game. In fact, it's more likely to appeal to more people due to the addition of a persistent world.

Two games which are more than a year away of being published ...
In view of the recent history of the last 5 years, there is a 97.333764% chance both will loose.
To me a fanboy is someone who supports a game 300% before it gets published, without any game experiece at all.
All I know is that GW2 was postponed by at least 2.5 years in september 2008.... It must have been after the "fantastic launches" of AoC and WAR in that period.
So perhaps even raise the 97.333764% shown above.
Want a real mmorpg? Play WOW with experience turned off mode and be Pve_Pvp King at any level without a rat race.
