I am intending to get a new computer this year and whilst im on about this any1 got any good sites to get a pre built package, monitor the lot.....?
Ok on from that for now i have a packard bell from pc world.....yes pc world. It has a disastrous 8400GS card in atm which is dog awful. As a temporary measure id like to upgrade the card but i am slightly concerned i might fry the PSU. I dont have to get the latest card just something thats is in the PSU bracket. The next tricky thing is i do not have a clue what PSU i currently have so i apoligise for that....., maybe 300watt?

yes i think its 300watt.
i am currently playing Mortal online also bad company 2 is out soon and these games do seem to be testing my graphics card quite considerably. Id like to get something which will poss last till the year is done when ill buy a new one. Regarding making one, unfortunately i AM limited with time and tbh all those fiddly bits...i got sausage fingers lol.
300 watts is really low. I would definently upgrade it to at least a 600+ watt before doing any kind of upgrades.

Im not sure how the price translates into US $ but it looks like a solid system. I cant speak for the quality however. Another site I know of thats pretty common here is http://www.ibuypower.com/. From what I hear people seem to like them.
Thats a great price for that system. Its roughly $1000 since the british pound tanked over the last year. The brits made the same economic mistakes the US made when correcting the recession except the pound isn't used as the international reserve currency. Also Brits pay a higher premium because of VAT.
Nevermind, your PSU is just too shitty.
All those memories will be lost in time, like tears in the rain.
i would look into verious setting of your like in the bios os etc
i made a new one and since amd as not released a autodetect and the suggested tweak for best performance
your pretty much left on your own and bios can easilly cut your perfomance in half just because of those setting
very often lot of very advanced feature are ignored because most dont know what they do .until bios maker and amd or intel find a way to detect what we use and suggest us the best setting for the best performance i bet your actual system is underutilised.
