My ex-Father-in-law collects them. I remember this bookcase he had. It was loaded with all these handmade clowns. It was in the spare bedroom. My ex-wife wouldnt sleep in there. Cracked me up.
Why are some people so scared of clowns. I could never figure that out.

I'm not fond of them, though I wouldn't call it fear. I find them stupid and annoying and not at all funny. But I had one sneak up behind me and spook the living crap out of me once... damn clowns.

My cousins showed me "IT" when I was 4. I absolutely hate clowns, and that clown doll posted above is f***ing scary as s***. Chucky is scary too. ><

To be honest im not scarred of anything, i get angry in situations that people would be terrified in. Guess im kinda like a really socially violent baboon..without the whole red butt thing >.>.....nevermind.
Lets put it this way, im the kinda guy that can sit through movies like braindead and not feel sick, infact i remember laughting my head off at most scenes. I saw IT when i was 12 and all i could think was, thats tim curry.... hes looked weirder*. (*rocky horror)

Pennywise the clown from steven kings "it".....most of the tv version was a cheesey load of repugnant trite crap.....but Tim Curry in the role of Pennywise....inspired and scary shit. I'm actualy more afraide of long term commitment in a relationship and having a bath but if I was going to be scared of a clown it would be Pennywise.

I think Left 4 Dead's new game will be a smash hit because of the clowns. They picked the clown zombies because of the weird fear many people have of them.

I suspect the reason there isw a fear of clowns can be connected to the fear of human like robots, with human like robots people have found that the lack of facial expression and 'contradictory' expressions generates a instinctive loathing and fear in some humans.
Which brings me to clowns, they generally have largely blank faces [the white makeup] with a big smile painted on. Yet at the same time we see the clowns real face doesant always have that smile. This creates what some have called the 'false smile' in clowns which it seems is a common answer to the question of why do you fear clowns.
Personally i dont fear clowns but i do dislike them.

I actually know a person who hates and is afraid of clowns and he would be considered one of 7 in the group of people I hang out in this area so that's pretty close!
Personally I don't like clowns except for the artsy fartsy variety of Commedia dell'Arte clowns.

I guess I am a little afraid of clowns, i don't mind them just walking around, but if one would be behind me when i turn around, or standing next to my bed when i wake up, I'd be shitting my pants.
