Free Trial or just a Scam Trial

imageI tell you, is the free trial free? or is it a big scam just to get your credit cards and the answer is a scam because every MMORPG wants your credit card unless their every desperate like Anarchy Online with the 1 year free thing but I still say a Scam because once you give them your credit card, WOOF, after the free trial they charge you and I DEMAND they make FREE trials ACTUALLY FREE!!!image

well, they just do that for proof of age, and so that you dont take advantage over the free trial.

You can cancel the account before it runs out and you will probably not get charged for the month after the trial.

I like Eve's free trial they don't ask for credit card what you need proof of age for? Its charged to the parents either way

The only proof of age you need for regisration junk is 13

well my problem is different, I registered, tried to enter my credit card and t says "system not available" the message is spcifically:

Sorry. This page is currently unavailable. Please try again later.

and customer support tells me I can't get a free trial becuse I have no credit card info, bit of a weird  circular logic there eh?

Its not a scam the credit card requirement is to stop ebay sellers from downloading thousands of trial accounts and taking the starting money to sell on ebay image

And you can't just do that with one account?

Nope, each account starts with 3 sims which is 30k, takes 33 accounts to make a million which is $25 to $40 bux on ebay so to make a fortune you need thousands of them. They use to give them out free and 10000 codes would go out in a few hours but no real players would recieve them HAHA

Requiring credit card information during a "free period" has always been the norm for online games.  I see nothing different about TSO.  The fact of the matter is, once your account is registered, you can change your billing options, so you can either cancel the account at the end of your trial period, or you can continue past your trial period by letting EA charge your credit card, or you can use game time cards, or you can even pay via Paypal.

There's no scam here at all, and I would trust that the people posting here would check their facts before posting such nonsense.

The free trial is a scam in one way. I got me one of those to see if I could manage two sims at the same time. I got so addicted to having both accounts that I kept the free one too. The only way it scams you is by causing you to become addicted to the game(and you will if you actually play for the 14 free days). In that time you will find out how much fun it can be.::::24::

That's what happened to me too, Camy.  I innocently got the trial so I could check out some events going on in a city I didn't live in.  I couldn't give it up.  haha

ROFL I am so glad I am not the only one it trapped. I have been playing since Oct, 2002, and still keep going and going and going. Only now I go twice as much with the two of them.
