Bored With The Existing Games.......

nonjonronnonjonron Member Posts: 139

Anyone have any new game advice?  I'm "not feeling it" as of late with regards to MMOs.  History:.  I've played EQ1 (extensively), EQ2, Eve On-line, WOW and dabbled in Aion and Lineage 2.

Is there a game I'm missing that might breathe new life into my jaded outlook?  Should I be looking at single player games as well?  Seems like most of these games are kill-level, craft-level, level, level, with Eve-online being the once exception.

Maybe you should take up woodworking, go outside, take a walk, start exercising, there's more to life than video games.

Try Fallen Earth and make the judgement what you might feel about the game yourself.

    http://www.fallenearth.com/trial/

For me, it has taken years before a MMORPG has grabbed me again, Fallen Earth has really put MMORPG back into my playing field as it fits the playstyle I have and want out of my MMORPG experiance.

Game looks great, is hugh and by hugh I mean seamlessly hugh, it has plenty of content ranging from missions to what ever you feel like doing, no classes other then build up your own in this Post apocalyptic world, real time travel, so no fast travel, no respec which I really like, tho it seems they are working on something like respec but hopefully it will be very expensive and hard to obtain as they keep saying, hugh amount of  freedom as in you don't NEED do be doing missions all the time if you don't want to and you still will progress, obviously at a slower rate, so not a game for the speed/power lvl'rs, but why rush in a game genre like MMORPG's, very crafted oriented which is something I really miss in these A title MMO's released the last few years and it's really addicting, especially once you get teh hang for the game basics, 90% of all ingame items are crafted, aswell having a great community, very friendly, very helpfull, something again I was missing for several years in those A-Title MMO's, apart from LotrO which I felt was also very community friendly, atleast in beta and when I played 1 month after release but as saying below, fantasy isn't really my thing anymore with MMO's.

Exceptions like Vanguard could also be intresting for you to try, but the overal fantasy type isn't my thing. But hey that might also be something for you to look into Vanguard, http://vanguard.station.sony.com/isleofdawn/  but please do ignore the wanna be gamers anti soe'rs.

Below some ingame screenshots of Fallen Earth...

Yeah Fallen Earth is worth a try... Final Fantasy XI is worth a go also. Try City of Heroes/Villians and for something different give DDO a run. If you liked Aion/Lineage 2 check out Darkfall gameplay and see if that's up your alley.

All have free trials (cept DDO it's free to play.)

Maybe he already does.  You don't know, and you certainly have absolutely zero right to criticize his lifestyle choices when you have no idea what they are!!

Lineage and Aion have nothing in common with Darkfall in terms of gameplay IMO

    Actually quite the opposite

Haven't played Aion but I had of ton of fun in Lineage 2 running around red with ability to drop my stuff. Sieges were also quite awesome PvP experience. Darkfall is even better :P

hence why I asked him to "check it out".... "to see if it's up his alley"... because maybe he's bored with existing games... you know... like what he clearly stated... and maybe since he might like pvp... you  know... he might like to try something "opposite"... getting the idea now?

Darkfall, ryzom, Fallen earth and other indie games offer a innovative and new experience but takes time finding the one you'll enjoy the most.
