STEAM users, please read this: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1127628 If you redownload it through Steam, do NOT launch it through steam, it seems it'll try and update then try and redownload it all again. I'm still downloading it, but i have turned the autoupdater and autolauncher off, once it's downloaded im moving the folder out of the steam file (C:steam/steamapps/common) to a new place, for me it'll likely be a new file C:STO. Then the run the .exe from there independantly from Steam and let the game server apply the updates.
Not sure if this works, ignore my suggestion.
Expresso gave me a Hearthstone beta key.....I'm so happy
I downloaded the Beta client from Fileplanet for OB... Today I had a Whopping 59Mb patch to download... LOL Your issues are with Steam and not with Cryptic over this.

I have downloaded the client from Fielplanet as well.. That is the client I am running, and I'm having to download the huge patch as well... I dunno why you are so goddamn special..... =(
I remember it took me seven days to download Dune II when that first came out over my new 56k modem. You wipper snappers should make your own video games while you wait. that's what we used to do. Text adventure MUD FTW

May be because I always check the path for the install whenever I install something and change it if it's non-standard. Although I can't remember if I changed the path during my STO install (I think it was already C:Program Flies (x86)...) doesn't mean I may not have tweaked it a little. This issue people seem to be having is Steam named the Beta folder a different name than the release folder so it's thinking the game isn't there and it's re-down loading to the new folder. I use Steam for a lot of single player games but never for betas or online games for this very reason. This has happened with steam before with other Betas.I have no idea why your FP download did this to you as your folder structure should be intact.
