I'd highly recommend using a third party host for downloading the full game. I'm guessing you downloaded the installer from the official site in which case you have a large 9 gig patch to download.
The patch itself is about 1/10th of that. Google might yield some results for you.
It depends on how fast it's downloading on the patcher. I grabbed it from Fileplanet at around 400kbs, the patch is around a gig though and needs to be done via DF's patcher!
The DFO website said downloading through a torrent would be faster. Currently loading it on uTorrent, I literally just started it and its at 3.5%. Running 550kb/s, so this is much faster

Are you just patching from an already full install, or did you grab the launcher and are now patching the entire 9 gigs of info?
