MMO's on a Netbook

bbranch70bbranch70 Member Posts: 19

If this is in the wrong place I apologize in advance. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with playing some MMO games on a netbook. I just got a Aspire One recently and I've played Wizard101 on it which runs well. Working on downloading WoW to see if it'll run now.

Has anyone else tried any of the F2P or older MMO's on a netbook with any success?

I found some articles online listing some games but thought I'd ask here too since I searched and didn't see the topic elsewhere on the forums.

Yeah old topic, I know, but I'm interested in this too...

I tried to get some games running on my Netbook lately (Asus EEE PC 1005HA-M with Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz, 1GB RAM):

Flyff: Batshit Crazy loading times. You can actually feel that you're sitting on 1GB. After that it runs quite well.

Fragoria: It's a browser game with quite enjoyable graphics (for a browser game, mind you). Loading times too, but you can download the small (<50MB) client which helps a lot.

Daimonin: Runs just fine. Netbooks tend to not have Numpads though, so you need an external mouse or your touchpad to move around, which I got used to in about an hour.

    Anyone tried some more ?

WOW runs perfectly smooth on one.

There are a number of games that will run on netbooks if you downgrade the graphic quality enough and some that run just fine as is (though they are obviously running basic engines)

What will be interesting is when a major mmo somehow gives a decent online experience in their game to iphone/android users. I include the iPad in this list as it is essentially an iphone with a larger screen :P

On a side note: I see dead posts ooooooooo
